The locals thread

For locals only. As you've all seen we're all very willing to help with questions in the forum. But we need a thread where we can talk about stuff without first explaining details and logistics. Stuff like that deal at spanish trail that I'd like to consider, free drinks/cover for locals at whatever spot, a place with edible pizza and whatever else. No tourists here.

Re: The locals thread

Scooters Pub just opened on Rainbow by the 215. It used to be Blackjack Lodge. Looks like they pumped a lot of $ in to the place and are looking to get it back as soon as possible. I went the night after they opened. My friend was gambling and lost about $80. The big tit chick bartender charged him $4.50 for a bud light draft. A bottle of bud lite there is $3.75. Doesn't make much sense. Big shame cause we were looking forward to this place opening up, but alas I can't give it my reccomendation, and probably won't be spending any cash there.

I can't stray from Sierra Gold if I end up on that side of town.

Jones and 215? Too many cops in that bar for my liking and they don't allow smoking inside. Been going to O'Aces on Decatur between Trop and Reno lately, seems like a cool place.

Or just pick one cocktail girl you get along with & have her bring 'em for free like a machine gun. Know her shift & days off. Works for me. YMMV.

Hojo out.

Re: The locals thread

Every time I check out one of these local bars there's only like 4 people in the place, none of whom I care to know. I'm totally doing it wrong.

Download the program for android and iPhone called Happy Hours for a good list and ranking of bar specials.

Rio buffet is half price for locals now with Nevada Id

And if you're into it, Chippendale's is $25 for locals. Ladies enjoy!

Good pizza? Rocco's behind BJ's across from Red Rock Station is one of the highest rated in the city.

Re: The locals thread

Well, to combine the current discussion of bars and pizza, I had a surprisingly good pizza when I went to Bootleg Benny's on Durango for happy hour recently. And the pizza was 1/2 price. Although given the "Chicago'" theme of the restaurant and the menu, I would have expected them to offer deep dish rather than thin crust pizza. Now, I wouldn't specifically go there for pizza, but if you're looking for a place to play some VP, have a couple of beers, and/or watch some sporting event, you could do worse then heading there.

Re: The locals thread

Although technically not a locals-only special, the Crown & Anchor Pub has a great weekday lunch special that is definitely geared to the local population. They offer a completely free lunch (including a draft beer) when you play a minimum of $20 VP or BJ. This is definitely +EV because the entree and draft alone would cost about $15 and if you play BJ and employ basic strategy, your expected loss while waiting for your meal should be less than that amount. The food is typical pub food, but the Guinness is good!

Re: The locals thread

The Rio Buffet deal is $8.50 with local ID for lunch only. But it's hard to beat.

I dunno if anyone knows about the Rhino lunch special yet though. Between 11am-4pm you can get a beer, burger and fries for $4...

By local ID are you referring to a Nevada dl?

I'm doing the research on this for the rest of the week. Poker slapped me twice, and I need a break.
