you have really motivated me good sir, for that i thank you. im not talking just poker wise either, i mean as far as not being lazy in my life as a whole and putting more effort into improving my situation.

I"m really happy things are working out for you and i appreciate you putting yourself out there like you have.

All this ganja talk is funny cuz while you guys are considering quiting i'm considering starting. i've barely ever blazed (just socially, and didn't like it much) but after hearing mr. joe rogan talk about the differences between sativas and whatever the other is called and the positive possible effects, i wanted to give the sativas a shot. Best of luck dude, maybe i see you out there
Thanks, glad you stumbled and kept reading. I highly recommend reading Matt's entire thread, it's my favorite on here. Bud is a master plant, but it's highly prone to abuse. It's opened my mind and I'm thankful for it, but it's just time to let it go. Love your choice of words, "getting a schooling" haha

See why I said what I said about you being an immature kid who has NO idea what he wants in life and as a result has no shot to be a success in the long run as a poker player UNLESS you made some drastic lifestyle changes? You have the talent no doubt. And you seem nice enough. But your mind right now is just all over the place. ADD?
What's my number one goal in life at the moment? Have a clear mind. So ADD? Probably...god damn early childhood television conditioning...but, your right about the life changes. This whole week I've been taking a break from poker and started to take care of my body. Got into proper meditation and a bi-weekly routine to red rock. It's made me re-think a bunch of stuff. I came home, looked in the mirror, and told my ego, "things are going to change around here." As soon as I said that, I stretched my body and started giving it the nourishment it deserves. I'll let ya know when I reach that point of clarity, i'm not there yet, but with these small changes everyday, I'll get to where I want to be soon.

thanks for giving me credit, glad you think I helped you get out of the funk. it's nice when you can help someone else when you help yourself. It's not thanks to me though, when it comes down to it, YOU did it bro. Take it slow and keep booking small wins, as a young grinder, that's the most important thing, to build your roll and get comfortable with the swings. As it stands, I'm most likely heading out to florida soon, maybe after march madness, so you never know, I might be at a table near you haha

Seems appropriate that post # 420 in this thread was by someone named stoner.

I just got home after one of the most tilting sessions ever...you know, one of those long, never get a hand, never lose a big pot but somehow your stuck kind of days while you just see the couple fish donate to the other regs...so i really have a craving to blaze at the moment lol, but i told myself i'll try being sober out so i'll see how it goes.

lol its funny cause i tried once to stop and i ended up smoking again because it helped me relax after a loosing session where i feel like im going on monkey tilt. Its hard to stop. Sometimes i wish i had the will power to do it. I mean if kid cudi quit im sure you can

Re: Live Vegas Grinder in his Quest to Evolve

I dont like smoking before sessions at all, it impairs my judgement and all in all im not %100 like i want to be.

A few months ago i smoked up in my hotel room then went downstairs and bricked a tourney. Immediatley sat at a 1-2 table and dusted off $600. Then went over to a BJ table...

You know the rest, after going out to my car a few times to reload, i had milked the kitten enough. I was stuck $2.5k.

I blame that night for being high imo, i usually never tilt that hard.

Re: Live Vegas Grinder in his Quest to Evolve

^ ok, not sure if that was a joke but blaming pot for losing 2.5k is just some more reefer madness propaganda. Stop it.

Take this bit of advice from a hardcore stoner Dan. Don't kid yourself by claiming you will never pick up a bong again. You're in your early 20's and marijuana is something that you truly enjoy and have found great benefits from. Whether you look at it this way or not, it has probably greatly changed your life/outlook in a number of ways. But what you said about MJ being prone to abuse is 100% true. I'd say that 95%+ of MJ indulgers abuse the plant. Most things are good in moderation but when you start over indulging whatever it is can become counter productive or damaging.

I highly recommend you take a short break (3-6 months.) Maybe not even that long but the longer the better.

Myself. I just turned 24 and have been HEAVILY blazing since 16/17. I have taken approx 4-6 different 2-4 month breaks over the past 5 years or so and every time I do I have a very positive experience. I am currently on a 8+ month break for various reasons and it has been great (although I'm dying to jump back in, but I can't quite yet). I've found taking breaks really helps keep you balanced and keep things in perspective. I definitely feel you value the plant and its benefits much more and it helps refrain from becomming "burned out" on bud.

Although I have learned to really enjoy and appreciate my bud-free stints I am not kidding myself. I love MJ and will continue to indulge for the foreseeable future (atleast til I have kids, then the serious cut-backs will inevitably begin). Take a break, get that tolerance down, clear your head for a bit and I highly doubt you will regret a short break.

Much more I could add but I'd rather not write a book on it right now. GL kid

Re: Live Vegas Grinder in his Quest to Evolve

Also Dan I have something I highly recommend that you watch. Not sure if you're a sports fan but regardless of if you are or not it is still a great watch, especially for stoners. "Run Ricky Run" the ESPN short film (about an hour) documentary on Ricky Williams and his "situation" which almost exclusively had to do with marijuana indulgence and abuse. I gained some invaluable knowledge from this short film and as a stoner who is struggling with quitting/not quitting I highly recommend you give it a shot. Great movie. Ricky Williams might become your favorite athlete after you watch it!

Taking a month or two break can be nice.
Also just smoking less often works too, especially if you blaze all day, everyday you get to the point where being high feels normal and you feel weird when youre not high
