I can agree with these except for NC State. I think they get smoked today.

It was a lot easier to get a bet in today.

CowboyCold you have Ohio St and Connisseur you have Georgia St (sorry about that one point). I'd like to parley to your next pick if either of you win.

Well if you are basically even now then I put the odds of you being broke and flying out by Monday as pretty low. If you hit a patch of bad luck just go back to the Dery cash cow for a quick double up. At least you have a system for guaranteed money.

As a Michigan state alum, I'm glad to see the #1 seed in our bracket go down!

I was given 2 winners and 2 losers to choose from, and I bet the losers.

Played 2-5 plo at Aria. I got in pretty deep and was able to avoid having to stop at the cashier on the way out. I was in an ok main game while everyone talked about how good the must move game was playing.

I had the lunch special at The Roasted Bean in the Aria. A sandwich, chips, and a really nice bowl of mixed berries for $14. Sorry no photos. It's worth checking out if you're playing there.

"I need more chips, please" was a line I got to say frequently yesterday. It started badly and went downhill from there. I need a big rally today.

I went with the consensus picks today. It's a shame I missed Michigan St, I probably would have bet a million on them.

No, it's been hard enough to watch the NCAA games in the poker room. Generally I have just checked the results after they are over to see if I won.

I had a small rally, in for about half of this :

I went to Javier's for dinner. I got the Cabo Azul.

Overall it was a weird experience. I asked the bartender for an interesting Mexican beer and he started listing the same beers as Senor Frogs. He then asked me for a credit card to run a tab. At the Aria. How often do people run out on their tabs there? The shrimp taco was good, the lobster enchilada was not, and the dungeness crab stuffed pepper was ok. The meal was garnished with canned black olives.

I don't recommend it.

Well that only cost $100. Plus $10 in tips.

My biggest win:.

Aaarrgh! Toss the 3?

Cromwell center bar. Great bartenders.

I walked back from The Cromwell. I stopped at a candy store in the front of Planet Hollywood that I strongly recommend. They make their own chocolate on the premises starting from the beans. When I went in several pretty young ladies were extremely excited to talk about their varieties of chocolate and provide samples. It's a cool experience if you're a single guy, but bring your wife/girlfriend and you will be a hero. It's all gourmet dark chocolate, but the flavor differences are amazing.

A shame you didn't have a good meal at Javier's. I actually really like that place and have always had good food/service.

Yes. Definitely toss the 3. You didn't come to Vegas to hit flushes. Plus it is a small error overall to do so. Except in rare circumstances, like having 2 Aces in Double Double Bonus, I always hold 3 to a Royal. Sometimes it may be a small mistake, but not enough to swing the bankroll to the negative for a few days. But that Royal will make a huge difference to the upside.

Rank the beers though. Haven't had any of those and I like me some IPA.

I don't think I realized I had the royal draw until I hit the king. Obviously keeping the 3 was stupid but a link off of wizard of odds says it is the right play.

The Happy Camper was a nice ipa, nothing remarkable.

The Innis and Gunn was really interesting and probably the only one I would specifically have again. The oak barrels give it an unusual flavor.

Unfortunately switching from the ipa to an ale and back again did an injustice to the West Coast and the Acme.

The West Coast seemed really hoppy after the I&G which had very little happiness. Actually I would like to try this one again also.

By the Acme, it was all beer. I guess I should try this one again too.

Playing double bonus keeping the 3 is actually the right move.

Thanks, but CowboyCold is correct. I am not in Las Vegas to hit flushes. A slightly wrong play with a royal possibility is a lot more fun.

I quoted his post less to call out what you personally are there for (+EV play vs gambooooling) as it is his statement that it's a "small error" to keep the three. That's inaccurate.

Don't want to derail the thread but according to my VP odds calculator which was put together by people that are way smarter then me...

Keeping the 3 of diamonds is a mistake, albeit we don't know what card was not held and I put in a card that could have made a straight.

Again, even if it is a small mistake to keep it or toss it, I err on the side of the biggest upside with the hand when I am in Vegas. If you want to argue small +/-EV and you are playing for a living then I agree you need to play 100% correct.

You are correct. It seems I would be right only if the 3 to royal contained a ten. My bad.
