I think this is why he does inspire people; a lot of his fans probably hate their lives. I’m sure there are a significant number of fans that don’t have the freedom that he has. They work for the man and feel trapped/pushed around and are tired of it. They have to be at work by a certain time and hate their job, and to them a trip to Vegas to play poker and do what they want at all hours of the day is a vacation. They see Trooper having that freedom every day and it inspires them to see a guy living that way. Trooper also doesn’t have extra responsibilities with marriage/kids that a lot of people have. He does what he wants.
Of course playing poker in Vegas all the time is not glamorous, but people don’t all see it that way.
