I'm not super familiar with the situation but there is certainly nothing immoral about increasing rake or changing a VIP system. This is especially true when you consider it mostly impacts poker grinders, which is one of the most immoral pursuits one can participate in. Sorry if i don't shed any tears that some professional poker players had to go get real jobs and actually contribute something to society for the first time in their lives.

Well, then assuming this is true, how come Trooper loses (in a big way) so often ?

Do "Fish" leave the strip to play poker at the Nugget ?

From what I can tell, Trooper might be the fish (LAGfish) at the table ?

It makes no sense, to me anyways, why Trooper is drawn to the Nugget.

I consider the Nugget to be a reg infested combination of grinders and gamblerholics.

This is what happens when there is so much pressure to keep growing YouTube Likes, Views, Subscribes etc. Your 19-year-old, pregnant girlfriend shoots you through the heart (and a dictionary) with a .50 Desert Eagle! So stop piling on the vloggers and show some love.

If you all keep up with the negativity, Trooper will have his new "friend" shoot a Go Gamble hat right off of his head...and you'll still give it a thumbs down.
Trooper looks like a friggin genius next to these two..

I think the only thing that is a foregone conclusion is that this thread has officially lost all credibility. Fake news, if you will, based on wild speculation by EXTREMELY biased posters ITT. All this baseless speculation does is give Trooper more ammo to expose his haters.

It's pretty clear that a lot of people just like to make things up to make the Trooper look bad. Like he has a kid (and grandkid) that he never paid child support for. I wonder what nonsense will be posted next.

I'm not too familiar with the Golden Nugget..never been there actually (was at Fremont once late at night when no one was out) but i'm assuming the clientele is more blue collar than on the strip. He plays very little at the high end properties on the strip despite the fact that they have the largest poker rooms.

He also used to live downtown which made the Golden Nugget quite convenient for him and he is probably comfortable there.

What I find strange is that he hardly ever plays at Red Rock despite living relatively close to it.

pretty sure there is a starbucks there iirc.

I think the main problem is that it is a lone property far off the strip in what could be anytown USA and there is no "glitz" for him to shoot

I would image a decent number of tourist stay downtown because its cheaper and some like the atmosphere better there.

Disagree slightly on the VIP system. If you encourage people to do something (like play tons of hours on your platform) to hit a certain status and then drastically cut back the benefits associated with that status without a reasonable amount of notice it is pretty shady.

The only part of your reply I agree with is that you're not familiar with the situation.

Hmm, like what Caesars poker room did several years ago. They had a big promo, get x number of hours over a month or 2 period(I think any Caesars property) and get into this big Free roll tourney.

They printed out the structure sheets at the very beginning. After looking at them I saw that It wasn't a total crap shoot shove fest so I deemed it worth going for the hours.

On the day of the big tourney, they realized too many people qualified and they turned it into a total shove fest. Complete BS.

Blue collar would be a generous assessment.

I've played at the Nugget a few dozen times (over the years) the poker crowd is a strange assortment of characters and can be very rando, even from table to table, day to night, day to day, weekday to weekend.

Indescribable is a good way to put it.

The range of characters can be all over the place, much more so than the strip. Annoying to Fun and everything in between.

Neeme did a vlog there and took one of the hiking trails after and shot some drone footage iirc. Was decent from what I recall

Ya I seem to remember Neeme taking his woman for a hike back there and it getting dark. The thing is Neeme seems to enjoy adventure and different things. Trooper on the other hand really likes his "routine". Could you imagine trooper going to a new town and seeing the sights, going to different restaurants, local coffee houses, meeting people

Oh wait...never mind

Trooper has played there a few times in the past.

Trooper could not win at Red Rock, for many reasons.

Which leads me to this question ...

What poker room could Trooper win in, over the long run ?

I think everyone but Trooper knows he can't win playing Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Mondays and Thursdays are very questionable outside of football season.

So let's say Trooper plays only weekends, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, what room could Trooper be a consistent winner in ?

If you can't win in the Bellagio or Wynn on a Saturday, you might as well sell T-shirts in my opinion.

Trooper crushed MGM at one point then they did something to piss him off and he hasn't gone back

I think. Pretty sure

There are actually 2 Starbucks at RR but the games play more snug with a high % of regs nitting it up. His style is not conducive for success.

Actually I think his style is better suited to play games like that.

I thought Planet Hollywood used to be his regular place, since the players tend to be really touristy and casual. Is the Golden Nugget still at $4 rake/$2 comps? He should only be playing at 4/2 casinos which there are very few of ATM. Caesar's is still 4/2 iirc.

The OMCs and Nits at Red Rock will eventually hit the stone cold nuts on the flop, and stack the Trooper.

The Troopers style is best suited for games where he can be away from the table for extended periods. I think at this point it is safe to conclude that he does not have an edge when he plays poker. Therefore the less he plays the better in terms of loss rate
