If someone uses the term reg in a hand history it generally implies that the player is good at poker...a grinder. Otherwise they would use a term like bad reg, or fish, or whale, or fun player, or rec player.

The term itself is somewhat subjective but I've always considered someone a reg if they play 4+ times a week. I consider someone that plays 2 times a week to be a semi-reg as that encompasses a ton of players.

Fact is the vast majority of players at 2/5+ these days are poker enthusiasts that play poker quite often. Sure, Vegas has a ton of tourists, but even among the tourists a high percentage of those players are poker enthusiasts that play poker quite often somewhere.

BTW, his comment is laughable asking if the two are picking on him. How the hell is the caller picking on him when all he did was call a bet?
Wouldn't surprise me if he included the hand to send a message to the regulars that they shouldn't pick on him.

Neeme/Boski will break down any hand at any time, win or loss, and give us their entire reasoning behind it. Even if they get smoked in the hand or like Boski, get knocked out of a big tournament.

Meanwhile Troop is a handful of sessions into his new 2/5 journey and is now saying sorry, big secrets, cant be telling you certain hands?

Additionally, he made it clear that going forward he will be showing *fewer* hands? Fewer poker hands from Troop, is that even possible?

2 times a week is a reg. If you play live poker 5 or more times a month, you are a reg.

I agree the word reg is so overused, the stand alone usage of "reg" tells you little about a player or table.

Just a reminder, trooper's vlog is not a poker vlog, it's a lifestyle vlog

Trooper told us people watch trooper to follow his "lifestyle", not his poker exploits.

All the fun non-poker stuff he does - darts, pool, the motorcycle poker run thing, etc.

If Kraut set up a - we're going to go to these 3 rooms and do shots, then play pool, then the pinball hall of fame - sign me up. Kraut just seems to know how to have a good time.

Lifestyle??

Hurts to think there are people out there that think he is living the dream.

Synopsis:

Trooper raised with XX because he's the sickest. Reg1 decides to bully Trooper by 3betting him. Reg2 is like "Naw bro, I wanna bully Trooper" so he calls the 3bet. Troopers eyes tear up and he cries: "You guys like to pick on me because I'm the new guy. You think I'm scared money but I'm gonna show you" and he insta-shoves his $400+ stack in the middle, and then pulls his $3k roll out of his pocket and throws it on the table and says "Come get some, bitches! I ain't scared, homies"

Reg 1 folded and was like "Yo dawg, I didn't know you rolled like that Trooper. Can I get you to sign my Starbucks mug after you stack me?" Then Reg2 folded and said: "Trooper, I sincerely apologize for calling that 3bet. I didn't mean to disrespect you like that. i promise to never do that again. Please accept this Starbucks gift card as an offering of good faith"

I must be in the minority, but the way Trooper details HHs is a plus for me. He's so big on image, tells and now secrecy that it all becomes more interesting.

Plus, he goes into detail on hands so rarely that it's always interesting when he does so.

Figure he's nitting it up at 2/5 so his opens from EP must be pretty strong, but he talked about it like a guy who opened lighter in the hand then noticed his Vs were 3-betting light so he took a stand.

Odds on monster (AA/KK) vs. taking a stand with weak holding (89s, etc.)?

I cracked up over this. The hand wasn't anything special and Trooper made it out to be a huge conspiracy about how everyone is out to get him in his own head. He had AA or KK and doesn't want to show how nitty he is instead of extracting value in the hand. The guy hasn't broken down a hand in months and does 2 or 3 hand histories in a week and now thinks he's giving away the keys to the castle by explaining his thought process. His pick up of random physical tells is hilarious as that seems to be 85% of his decision making process.

The reason he had to blur out the hand was because he needed to put something in the vlog and he probably didn't play any other hands that session. Just KK vs AA and losing set over set and then AA/KK early position raise and shove over a 3B and a call. I've been told he's very old man coffee and I could see him tightening up even more as he moves up to 2/5nl. Good thing he's playing at the short stack B game and not in a real 2/5nl game.

In order to have 89s here that means he would have had to raise with it in the first place. I'd say he is far more likely to have a hand like A7o than 89s. I wouldn't be surprised if he had AK and thinks it was such an incredible boss move to shove it in there.

yep 0% chance he doesnt blur out cards if hes actually bluffing. 2 days ago he shows JJ 3 bet shove on a K106 flop. this was also at a 2/5 table.

It's very confrontational, which any good poker player realizes is bad for the game. Troop needs to take some lessons from Pokerkraut on how make it a fun environment to keep the fish coming back even when they keep losing.
