Those guys (TBC and Pokerkraut) play $1/3nl while Andrew plays $2/5nl and $5/10nl at the Wynn so that might be why they have differing opinions on the quality of games.

Which makes the situation even stranger since he prides himself on being so real while documenting his "journey". (Even though he doesn't talk about poker, winnings, goals, etc...)

Guys like Whey, Andrew, et al, I feel are honest with who they are on their vlogs. That is refreshing. Unlike Trooper who seems to be pretending the entire time.
Tim created a persona for his vlog who he calls "The Trooper" which explains why he's one personality on camera and another off camera. If you ever watch any interviews that Tim gives on camera, it's a different personality than "The Trooper" portrays.

I think it would be interesting to learn why Tim chooses to do this and how he came up with the "Trooper" persona.

had to watch the vlog once i saw he was breaking down hands v TBC. i gotta say, whether it was grandeur or not, good on him trying to recollect a hand for his viewers. i'm also super impressed that he stays away from cheese sauce considering it has trans fat and whatnot. i think he's turned a corner. 2017 gonna be strong.

Troop gets AA three times in 15mins and on the third time he 'outplays' someone.

Troop doesnt get it, if troop was acting weak then TBC would have just called the river with showdown value. But because trooper pretty much opened up his hand, TBC tried to bluff him. Little does he know, trooper pays river bets often

haha Troop called TBC "the devil". He obviously enjoyed talking about how he won those pots they were in.

Confirmation bias.

Frooper will continue to pay off river bets for weeks following this "clairvoyant" instance.

I love reading TBC's blog. He's entertaining in all kinds of unexpected ways.

Like this pic he posted of Troop as proof he played with him. I know they really did play together but it takes a certain kind of genius to post a pic like this as proof:

Super solid Pilot episode!! Looking forward to what you put out next given the quality with which you started. A good buddy of mine grinds limit hold'em...made sure I forwarded it to him ASAP lol. Good luck!

If that is the case there are several contributing factors:

1) He plays super soft games (very careful table selection even at 1/2)
2) He plays very nitty..ie his chips aren't going in the middle without the goods
3) He's been fortunate.

Having never played with him he may also:

4) Have a very strong mental game..ie rarely tilts or spews.

Yep. His raise is mostly targeting JJ/QQ type hands but little does he know that Trooper is unlikely to bet/fold any pair on the river.

This is a very interesting story. How often do you fly to LA? It seems like the travel cost cut would wipe out your EV but your stats show otherwise. Would like to see more.

Where exactly does this come from ???

Even with quitting when up money with numerous days left in a month, this seems hard to believe !

Any long term grinders out there have an opinion on this quote ?

This year since the world series I have been in LA twice a month.

I will definitely be making a video about my poker story, past and present with those details.

There are 4 of us from the Seattle area that fly/drive down to LA and grind the limit holdem games. I think I am the 3rd biggest winner of the group though.

From his own blog post about that night, he says he is a big fan of Trooper. He should have some idea what Trooper will/won't fold to.

And people were saying Trooper was playing scared to try to protect his winrate. What a brave call by the trooper!
