Only way I would be a part of that fight is with seats within the first 20 rows that were gifted to me. I might paperview it if I could bet on it but alas I cannot.

from my personal experience I always was itching to head out to the tables so I doubt him eating at home will work. He often talks about getting out to the tables as early as he can so I bet Trooper is the same way.

I guess there will be a lot of fish in town for the fight so it might make sense for him to grind. He will need good table reads though or he's gonna get stacked again by someone who he thinks is a fish but isn't.

Trooper plays 1-2 at places like Bally's though. The games are always great at that level no matter what day it is. If he can't find a good game on an ordinary Tuesday night as a 1-2 NL player he would have to be pretty terrible.

The hunt for spewy drunk Euros & Irishmen in town for the fight this weekend begins. Fight weekends are always great for poker. This is the biggest fight since Mayweather/Pacquiao. It's probably going to break the 4.6M PPV buyrate of May/Pac, but even if it does so at 5M buys domestically, then yes.... 99.5% of the American population won't be watching.

You see how you can throw numbers as statistics in a vague and asinine manner into an argument and luck up on it being correct. It still takes nothing away from this being the biggest combat sports related event in a very long time.

Check Vegas betting odds for those facts. I have about $800 spread out in various prop bets on this fight. It's going to be an entertaining spectacle for sure.

You are forgetting the very glaring fact that there are many eyes for a lot of those PPV buys. Many times as much as 200-300 sets of eyes per buy in a bar and at least 2 sets of eyes in the average household. Those 5 million buys equals at least 15 million sets of eyes at minimum and most likely about 35 million sets of eyes which would mean 10 percent of the American population. Simple Mathematics

This is a really good post. I'm sorry for being so down on the fight earlier. I hope it turns out better than I expect.

As for good games, I was in one tonight where my opponent decided to open shove 200bbs when he turned a flush draw to go with his bottom pair vs my top set. That got me to thinking. It doesn't seem like Trooper takes many really bad beats. Most of his beats just involve losing with Aces or getting it all in with Jacks on a queen high board.
