I spoke with a few people that have this issue to varying degrees and it seems very much a superstitious sort of mentality. This wouldn't surprise me about Trooper at all. He seems VERY superstitious to me and the fact that he goes out of his way to mention that he isn't superstitious numerous times makes me think he's very self conscious about his superstitious-ness and strong belief in luck.
He's an addicted gambler, of course he believes in luck.
As someone with OCD, manifesting mainly as germaphobia (see here:
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/34...phobe-1422913/), I can attest that it often is accompanied with increased superstition, stemming mainly from a driving force of OCD being that unconnected things are actually connected and the fear of not having control over the outcome of events.
I don't regularly watch Trooper's vlogs, nor am I a shrink, so I can't attest to whether he might actually have OCD or perhaps is just kind of type A about certain things. But for sure OCD can manifest in different ways and to different degrees, with some who suffer from it being nearly indistinguishable from anyone else and those on the severe end of the spectrum having difficulty getting through even a semblance of everyday life activities.
