The point was, friend, if he owns the car he's devaluing it by a few hundred bucks with the extra 5,000 miles +
maintenance wear that he wouldn't endure just driving around Vegas. If he is leasing there is no way he has put 10/12k miles a year on that car driving around Vegas so he could have gotten those miles on the car instead of paying for miles he never used. Whereas since he owns the car it may have been better value wise if he rented a car for 2 weeks on a Hotwire/Priceline deal for $150 that had unlimited miles. This will prove especially true if the car breaks down along the way and suffers a major repair.
