You're right, but it cuts both ways. You're considering coming to the US, so you need to be aware of American culture and American perspectives.
American hotels generally put a hold on your credit card. American visitors generally use credit cards. You don't have to like it or even agree with it but that's the way things are done. If you don't want to conform to American customs, be prepared to be hassled.
If you want people to treat you special because you are planning on spending OMG4K, I suggest you target a different destination. Maybe Sharm El Shiekh in Egypt or the Greek islands. You're going to find it easier to spend cash and you're going to stand out more, than in vegas.
