They did recently put up a sign that reads "Drug Free Zone" on the street behind Allure, so maybe it will clean up

It might not be for everyone, but I love the view. I have a major Vegas landmark right out my window (Stratosphere). I can see downtown and the mountains to the north and west.

I also get a kick watching strange street people roaming the blocks down below. Its like a human terrarium. My parents used to live on the 16th floor of a nice building on the upper west side of Manhattan, and there was a housing project across the street (behind the Lincoln Center, fyi). So I am conditioned to looking out over gritty urban environments.

As long as I don't get hit by a stray bullet, I am happy

What type of people stayed there?

Are there any plumbing issues?

Hot chicks?

What did you think of the location?

And how was it?

1. Not many people at all. Can be very quiet if you want it to be. I used to use the ggym all the time in the middle of the evening all by myself.
2. No. Hard water though.
3. The few chicks that were actually around were impressive. But there weren't a lot around. The only person i saw under 40 with any regularity was andrew robl.
4. The only issue with the location is turning left out of the building during rush hour to get to the freeway. Any other time of day is fine. If you know the back roads you can just turn right, go into circus circus and then go behind it. a nicer immediate area than allure even though they're very close to each other.
5. It was great. A big big selling point about sky is the 24 hour cvs on the ground floor. I can't tell you how valuable that is.

Unfortunately, I'm not as eager to learn about Sky since I signed another lease at Allure.

The 2 bolded points were both big pluses and minuses for me when assessing the property.

Another big negative for me is the 1 bedrooms (at least the ones I saw) had "galley" kitchens - where the kitchen is essentially a dead end hallway, instead of being open to the rest of the apartment.

The pool is obviously much better than Allure, and the units have much nicer bathroom fixtures, etc.

Interesting to hear there are not that many young people. Allure definitely has plenty.

Confirmed. Just checked with my friend, and we are in building 3.

You don't want to mess with UncleCliffy at the tables this summer; he's gonna be in a good mental place.

I'm looking to find a furnished unit to rent in a high rise....so if anyone is looking to find an occupant, let me know....I'd also share a 2BR2BA unit (or bigger) with the right person...

Not that many highrise units are furnished. I would do a search on craigslist, Realtor.com, and a site devoted to las Vegas highrises in particular like this one:

A -- unless you plan to stay very shot term (like less than 3 months) id just buy furniture. A furnished rental will effectively double the price even if the furniture is only so-so.

i you do plan on a short term stay, keep in mind that most of the high rises require a 6 month rental.

B. google king of Condos las vegas.... this guy is really plugged in and can get you a place at pretty much any highrise -- and will usually have a ton of different condos to show you at every property. Hes also very chill about dealing with poker players (ie people with no "real job").

lol, I'm moving to Vegas very soon and I'm considering Veer as one of my options. I'd like to hear some reviews on the experience of living there.

How about second hand, possible erroneous opinions?

I haven't been inside. I am sure the units are amazing (top of the line everything, great views, etc), but imo there a number of issues that don't appeal to me.

-Access is a pain the ass. There is no back entrance so you have to deal with strip traffic every time you come and go. This doesn't sound terrible to someone picturing life as an extended vacation, but for me running errands, running back home to quickly pick something up, etc would be too inconvenient

-I believe (could be wrong on this one) there is only valet parking. Some people might like this, I think it would be very annoying

-it looks to me from the outside that the units do not have balconies, again I might be wrong on this (told you it was going to be an uninformed opinion ). If that is the case it is a deal breaker for me. I am sure others might not care about balconies.

-City Center does not have the originally planned amenities that would make it good for self contained living: the Whole Foods Market that was planned, nice common areas for residents to congregate (I'm sorry Crystals is not a town square or park, its a sterile overpriced, struggling mall).

On the plus side, it would be a lot of fun on the weekends to live in the middle of city center.

Good luck with that, I don't think anyone has the experience of living there.

I do know one girl who lives there. She loves to party so I think she really likes being in the center of the action. She said it is like living on an island, but she loves it.

Because it is so new. Even if the rentals are flying off the lot, no one will have lived there for longer than a month or two.

Yeah, but there are so many trees around our deck that it feels quite secluded. Really the best of both worlds.
