Aria high limit has some phenomenal whiskeys, but only check it out if you seriously DGAF about money/comps.
Thanks, definitely looking more for a relaxed whiskey bar with large selection. Doesn't need to be a hip place. Old school is fine.

I think I posted about my brothers Blue Ribbon omakase experience in the past and honestly can't remember much of the details now. The bottom line:

My brother and two business partners went there and asked for omakase. The waiter listed them a bunch of options, they got confused and told him to bring what the chef recommends. During the dinner the waiter asked a couple times if he should also bring this or that and they agreed. Food and drinks were good but the (unexpected) $1800 check upset a couple people in accounting. I think the guy who paid for the meal had his company credit card suspended for a year.

Not directly from the TR players card, but you can go to the TR desk and have them print a voucher for you. If I recall correctly, the voucher can only be used towards the cost of the meal, and you will need to make up the difference/tip with cash or CC.

Did the guy who lost his cc privileges think it was worth it?

Picasso is, imo, the most "worth it" place in Vegas that is over 50 bucks a head.

Aha. Thanks. I will pass this insider knowledge along to the party who was denied the use of their player card and told me about their experience.

So 1 to 1 conversion rate as well?

e.g. Chayo on Linq promenade is 2 to 1 comp conversion.

how hard is it to get into picasso on a saturday night (july 9th)? what are my chances if going in solo or with maybe 1 other person? better to make a reservation now or just try that day?

thinking about doing picasso maybe on my own on saturday night, or with 1 other dude from the group, then getting a larger group to go to bazaar meats on sunday night (already made that reservation).

edit: nevermind, see that it's jacket attire. I plan on going more casual this trip.

Any rec for a good spot on Saturday prior to Bazaar Meats on Sunday? I'm in for anything.

I've eaten at Picasso without a jacket.

Sadly, they are closed on July 9th. I'm out there that same weekend and was really looking forward to it, but will have to leave Vegas without having Picasso again. Always next trip.

Honestly not sure. I always forget that some places do that and never remember to ask.

Down here at the Wine Cellar at Rio. Decent wine selection with 3/4 glass pours for flights. Had no idea how big/hidden the place was. Bartender very pleasant. Cheese platter with slices twice the size of what I've seen at other wine/cheese bars. Not a bad place to burn some comps...

Also, the Michael Mina restaurants (which includes StripSteak) tend to do better on whiskey than other places.

Picasso always closes during that middle July week so if you're only coming for the main.. Most likely will always miss it.

They turned the space into Jardin, which is the new general-purpose cafe (since they closed Society Cafe for the new poker room).

Botero is now costa di mare. Dined there with the wife and it was great because of ambience as you dine outside in a cabana of some sort. Very romantic, food was great but not outstanding. Do it once with the gf/fiance/wifey.

Botero is now Jardin. It is part of the walkthrough from Encore <--->Wynn and the outside tables overlook the European pool @ Encore.

Costa di Mare has replaced Bartolotta and is located in the avenue of high end shops on the way out toward the strip.

Losing Bartolotta really hurt, quality has gone down significantly. It used to be one of my top 3 favorite restaurants in Vegas.

Agree. Back in the day it was truly something special, most recent trip it was just ordinary. Like most other food options at Wynn these days.
