Personally I liked L'Atelier better than Picasso. Can't go wrong with either.

10 course kaiseki at Raku for $100: http://www.raku-grill.com/menu6.html

One of the best meals you can get in Vegas, on or off the strip, IMO.

be sure to call 3+ days in advance to make reservation, they need advance notice to do the kaiseki.

Re: Las Vegas Fine Dining Thread

Tyty, but no listing of the actual dishes? What is kaiseki? Other than the marginal description on that link of the menu. I beliee I saw Raku on some cooking channel show, and they highlighted a couple of their tofu dishes (which I'm not a fan of). Thanks for some other venue recommendations if anyone can fill my request.

Re: Las Vegas Fine Dining Thread

the whole point of a tasting menu is that you put yourself in the hands of the chef. If you want choice, why not just order ala carte?

Kaiseki is a traditional seasonal tasting menu typically with courses based on method of preparation. So you will have a steamed or boiled course, a soup course, a fried course, a grilled course, a raw course, etc...

Re: Las Vegas Fine Dining Thread

Raku is the best off strip restaurant in Vegas, with Lotus of Siam being the only thing that's close.

They're open till 3 am. Before midnight you definitely need a reservation. After midnight or 1 you have a decent chance just walking in, more so the the smaller your group, but reservation is probably a good idea no matter what.

Re: Las Vegas Fine Dining Thread

My one and only complaint about Raku:

One of my early visits eating there the phone was ringing non stop. No one answered it. I didn't know why.

Then I got to experience the other end of that: calling 5 times trying to make reservations only to have them never pick up.

So ya, sometimes they don't answer the phone
