I'm going to go ahead and bump this thread. Is the N9NE at the Palms still really good?

Just back from my first trip to Vegas and went to a couple of nice retaurants.

Craftsteak at MGM was amazing i thought, got the jumbo shrimp to start and a medium New York strip with a side of fries.. i thought it was the best steak i have had. Highly recommend it. $300 plus tip for 3.

Eiffel Tower restaurant was good aswell, i got the most basic dish (Roast Chicken, crispy potatos and green beans) but it was lovely and the chicken was really moist. $300 plus tip for 3.

Also went to the chinese restaurant Pearl at MGM and thought it was delicious. Crab spring rolls and the shrimp with chilli sauce for my main meal.. both top notch. $250 plus tip for 3.

3. Ago at the Hard Rock(Italian)link

4. Prime at Bellagio (Stakes obv)link

5. CraftSteak at MGM (STAKESSSSSSS) link

6. Mesa Grill at Caesars (some kinda grill?) link

7. Fix at Bellagio (i have no idea i read the description, this could be ANYTHING) link

8. SW Stakehouse at the Win, obv stakes, for some reason wynn has the worst godamn website ever so no link=/

9. Bouchon at the Venetian (french, head chef is Thomas Keller, guy is ****** sickkkk) link

anyway, add to my list or tell me to avoid places on my list for reasons.
Nobu is great, I have had dinner at the one in Atlantis in the Bahamas, as well as the one at the Hard Rock...both very good.

N9NE at the Palms is very good also....(much better than CraftSteak).

Mesa Grill is decent, but not as good as CraftSteak...however...I did have the best Caesar Salad in my life there.

Ill be in Vegas first week in Nov...staying at the Wynn and have reservations at SW Steakhouse...so I'll give you a review on that in a couple weeks.

one place that isn't as popular, but in my experience has been VV good is David Burke @ Venetian. however the mashed potatoes there suck so get the truffle oil+ parmesean fries which r awesome. The roasted veal on a bone, the lobster and eggs thing are both V good, and the salad with greens, potatoes, bacon, almonds, pear, and more is my fave salad all time.

Came back from Vegas a couple weeks ago. The only nice place we went to eat was Delmonicos at the V. I think it got some not-so-good reviews in this thread but the steak was awesome (bone in ribeye).

Best veal parmesan I've had (I'm by no means a veal parm expert) was a place off the strip called Gaetano's. Very delicious though. Everything there is really good and they treat you well.

Going to be in Vegas Dec 22-29. The plan so far is to check out:

-Mesa Grill
-N9NE
-Table 10
-Zeffirino
-BLT burger
-Wynn Buffet
-Craftsteak or the new Jean George Steakhouse at Aria
-Twist @ Mandarin hotel (maybe)
-Bouchon

Honestly, IMO, the only truly great restaurant on your list is Bouchon, and I'd suggest going there for brunch over dinner (brunch sat and sun only I think? maybe fri too?). The rest are 2nd tier.

Craftsteak is great, but Cut is just hands down better. Best steakhouse I've ever been too. I was in love with it from the bread and appetizers, and then the kobe ribeye just absolutely blew me away.

Dunno what BLT burger is, but Burger Bar is run by Hubert Keller. I will admit that I haven't been yet, so if it's bad, I take no credit.

Table 10 is ok for lunch I guess, but you can do so much better. Try a Mario Batali restaurant instead. Carne Vino is the stone cold nuts, and if you want something cheaper, enoteca @ the Venetian is great too.

Recently I've been trying to go to every Michelin Star restaurant in Vegas. Here's the 2009 list:

Quote:

3 Stars:
Joël Robuchon (MGM Grand)

2 Stars:
Alex (Wynn)
Guy Savoy (Caesar's Palace)
Picasso (Bellagio)

1 Star:
Alizé (Palms)
Andre's (Downtown)
Aureole (Mandalay Bay)
Bradley Ogden (Caesar's Palace)
Daniel Boulud Brasserie (Wynn)
DJT (Trump)
L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon (MGM Grand)
Le Cirque (Bellagio)
Michael Mina (Bellagio)
miX (Mandalay Bay)
Nobu (Hard Rock)
Wing Lei (Wynn)
Restaurant Charlie (Palazzo)
I've only been to about half. So far Picasso is my favorite, although I'm going to Joel Robuchon on Monday and expect it to be better (getting the 16 course tasting).

As has already been mentioned, all of the Michael Mina restaurants are great, and some are even very cheap. I'd consider replacing N9NE or Mesa with a Michael Mina restaurant if I were you.

Restaurants that haven't been mentioned enough in this thread:

Cut and Carne Vino (the best traditional, and non traditional steak houses in Vegas. Go to Carne Vino if the idea of pasta as a 2nd course is appealing. The pastas are the nuts, as are the 3rd course proteins. They are both so much better than n9ne, prime, craftsteak, etc.).

Picasso - everything comes out perfect every time. Expect a 3 hour meal, but it's amazing decor, service and food.

I'm guessing Twist will be at least 2 macaroon quality. I forget where I heard it, maybe in the other thread, but for the first month Pierre G will be in house.

Bucca di Peppo on Flamingo and Paradise is awesome Italian.
Not as fancy dancy or expensive as some of the other recommendations on here. But is VERY YUMMY, served family style, HUGE portions.
get the Caprese salad, awesome fresh basil...

i'm far from a food snob. i like buca di beppo. but this is a fine dining thread. i think requests in the thread are asking for fine dining recs.

Buca di Beppo? Not at all fine dining. And you can get Buca Di Beppo in many different cities. You like Olive Garden too? Fazoli's maybe?

Is the 16 course tasting the menu degustation?

1 Star:
Alizé (Palms) - Unsure
Andre's (Downtown)
Aureole (Mandalay Bay) - I've added to the list
Bradley Ogden (Caesar's Palace) - I've added to the list
Daniel Boulud Brasserie (Wynn) - I've added to the list
DJT (Trump) A $29 prix fixe dinner? Really? Unfortunately I can't find their menu online
L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon (MGM Grand) -
Le Cirque (Bellagio)
Michael Mina (Bellagio) - Too expensive, however, I will go to either his Seablue or Nobhill restaurant at MGM grand
miX (Mandalay Bay)
Nobu (Hard Rock)
Wing Lei (Wynn) - I've added to the list
Restaurant Charlie (Palazzo) - Too expensive for the budget
Carne/vino is 100% on my list. I want to snap call around 80% of their pasta menu.

Thanks ZeeJustin for single handedly changing my restaurant picks. A lightbulb went off inside my head when you listed the Micheline starred restaurants in Vegas. Why give my money to tier 2 restaurants when these restaurants are not that much more expensive + they are Micheline rated.

I'm still going to Bouchon for their brunch. I'll also still be going to Mesa Grill and Burger Bar for lunch. Twist is still a maybe.

Looking forward to your TR @ Robuchon

They're both great. BLT Burger is in the Mirage where the tigers used to be (white tiger burger?). They're a somewhat different burger experience between them both both are a good time.

Mephisto:

1) Nobhill over Seablue. Check online menus for pre-fix specials. Nobhill has a daily special, too. And Nobhill has a budget busting Lobster Pot Pie that is OMG good AND is easily splitable making it financially manageable.
2) Agree with Eco on Burger Bar and BLT - been to both - both good. I want to get back to BLT to have the Granda's Treat milkshake, has Maker's Mark added to it.
3) The Mesa Grill margarita bar rocks. They also have a speciality Mezcal list. Their desserts are a surprise hit. Menu is available online.

I am hoping to return to LV in mid-Jan.

Don't go to BLT Burger, multiple bad experiences there. If you're @ the Mirage, Stack is a much better option. Carnegie Deli is obviously awesome as well. Joe's Stone Crab @ Forum Shops is a great spot

And IMO, the exact opposite of everything said above.

Pierre G isn't that well known in this country but he is the nuts. The only other french chefs I really want to try over him is probably Alain Passard or Michel Bras.

By the way, I believe Boulud Brasserie is closing.

+1 on Burger Bar. Never had anything that wasn't fantastic there, and it's not too expensive.
