If you check in to holstein's on foursquare they will give you a free margarita or one of their watered down light beers.

Just got back from my 1st Vegas trip and have to recommend Ping Pang Pong at the Gold Coast (next to the Rio), and make sure you try the shrimp dumplings.

Looking for suggestions in the Summerlin area. Will be staying at the Suncoast for a week for golf.

Doesn't ping pang pong have a seperate menu not listed online or they go around the floor with a variety of dim sum/ dumpling items ? I seem to remember this. I wish they had a beef with eggplant dish.

Yes, they did, and I had only eaten in Americanized Chinese restaurants previously, so I was completely lost and just had them recommend something basic the 1st time I ate there. But after talking to a few people at the poker table they recommended a few items off the cart which were excellent. It seemed like most of what I saw people eating wasn't on the menu.

+1, this is a real good spot for lunch especially if it is cool enough to sit outside (not summer, obv). Good flatbreads there.

Re: Las Vegas Casual Dining Thread

Joining the Holsteins love-in. Steakhouse burger and El Machete burger both sampled, and re-tested to make sure. Both very good imo, but med-rare was a mistake, rare was a LOT better.

Wall of onion rings also pretty decent. Quite a lot of attitude from the greeters/front desk. Decent service @ the bar and in the restaurant, (once they finally relent and seat you.)

Definitely a step ahead of the BLT/Stripburger pack.

Thanks, checked in to Holsteins and it was great. Wife had the American burger with fried egg and I had the El Machete. Both were great, frys too. I also had Firestone pale ale, also great. Thanks for the help.

Side note, guy next to us enjoyed the visit even more as it appeared he was getting periodic hand jobs throughout, lol.

Re: Las Vegas Casual Dining Thread

I'll join in the Holstein's love too, I ate there for the first time last Thursday and the food was great. I'll be back for sure, and I still haven't had a bad experience anywhere at Cosmopolitan. I just love that place, it's as if Wynn and Hard Rock had a love child.
