Cross Posting from Fine Dining wrt Lotus of Siam

Okay, had the Nam Kao Tod (crispy rice appetizer)...would never order it again. Was just kind of sour/vinegar-y and was mediocre at best. I had been before and had Mee Krob (I know, Cartman hates it) and that was a lot better than the Nam Kao Tod. Having said that, I also tried the Crispy Duck Panang, and that was pretty spectacular. Will definitely get again. Last time I was there I had the crispy duck drunken noodles and I much preferred the panang. Also, we got prawns w/ drunken noodles and that too was delicious. So thanks for the recommendations, but the Nam Kao Tod imo was highly overrated.

The Egg and I is solid on Sahara, they serve longer than 11am too. How cheap are you looking for?

Solid breakfast off strip should be <$10, no?

Meh, at McDonald's yeah. Or at some super dump casino, yeah. But this will be around 10, maybe a touch more, but it's solid.

That's fine, was just generalizing didn't wanna pay on-strip prices when I'm not a big breakfast eater but sometimes need something of quality.

Really enjoyed this place while i was visiting this summer:

http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-original...cafe-las-vegas

Doesn't look like anything on the menu is over 10$, but after tip/beverages, you probably won't be out the door for <10. Hopefully this is close enough that it's not a bad recommendation.

I'll be out there friday, woohoo!

I always forget about this place when I think of off strip breakfast places I love...and I don't know why, this place is bomb too. I like the Egg and I, Cracked Egg, and this place for off strip breakfast. Also the Original Pancake House, which is a national chain, is quite good too.

That is a great recommendation. The food is excellent and there is a lot of variety to the menu.

Looking for some casual and fine dining recommendations. I'll be staying at the Aria or Cosmo, not that it matters much since I don't mind a good walk (but I'd prefer to stay on the strip). Going to be there for 4-5 days, I enjoy all kinds of fare (people I'm going with are not sushi fans, however, I can still eat on my own for a meal or two).

So far places I've been include:
Holsteins
Earl of Sandwich
Todd's P.U.B.
Milos
Mon Ami Gabi
é
Hash house a go go
Wolfgang Puck's Pizzeria
Burger Bar
BLT Burger
Munchbar
SW Steakhouse
Bellagio Buffet
Aria Buffet
1 or 2 others I'm sure I'm forgetting.

Places I'm leaning toward going this trip include:
For Dinner:
L'Atelier
Bouchon (I vaguely remember seeing I shouldn't eat here for dinner, but can't remember if that's true)

For Lunch:
Milo's
jaleo or china poblano
burger bar or holstein's

So I'm looking for 2-3 more recommendations for each.

At least on jaleo's website it appears to still be there (the last time I was in Vegas was last march madness and is when i'll be there again).

For a really good sushi for dinner only try blue ribbon at cosmo.

Not true. The best single entree dish I've ever had in Vegas was at Bouchon (it was a special I haven't seen since), and I've never been disappointed in the many dinners I've had there.

Speaking of bouchon, one of the best places for Sunday brunch IMO. Their oysters in wine sauce with fries & chicken and waffles are awesome.

I think this is why I was told not to eat there for dinner (to eat there for brunch instead). Maybe I'll do both. Reservations typically necessary?

Speaking only about Sunday brunch...
Bouchon doesn't take reservations for its brunch

I usually go around 10am and wait time for 2 is about 15-20 minutes from my experiences.

Yeah, Bacchanal is amazing. The elite move is to go at 2:30 so you get lunch prices then at 3 can take advantage of the dinner selections (crab legs).

Huge bar you can always eat at if the wait is long.
