Had sushi at Kaizen on Paradise Saturday. Not really casual as it'll cost you money, but a quite good sushi place. Better quality tuna sashimi than I've had in town outside of Okada/Nobu at about half the price (adjusting for portion size). Wasn't as big a fan of the rolls, but rolls are always more of a side thing for me anyways. Decent atmosphere, very good service, friendly staff. Will be going again.

I've been there several times and always found exactly the same thing. Good to very good quality and reasonable prices, particulary given that Nobu is right across the street. I've been surprised it hasn't gotten more love here. Asked about it once in a post several months ago and got crickets.

On a similar note, what is the local opinion of Mimo Ferraro's? We've been to the one on Flamingo several times but not in many years. Always found it to be a good experience, with quality food and service. Anyone have opinions now that they have one on Paradise in the same shopping center as Kaizen?

I am just adding another thumbs up to Holstein. I had the Gold Standard and my friend had the The Steakhouse Burger. We were both very happy with the burgers. I did not have a shake but had two 22 oz. Anchor Steam Small Beers which go down easy in hot weather. Small refers to the strength, not the size.

I think everything at Holsteins is good except the burgers.

Tried Holstein's recently. Was pretty impressed. I found it better than KGB and BLT Burger, though I'm not sure I like it as much as Burger Bar. Might have been though. Was delicious. Got Steakhouse burger fwiw.

How is Union for dining alone? Can one sit at the bar and eat?

Any good places for dining alone? I am staying at Aria, food options seem really pricey.

Would appreciate a suggestion for a good casual place to have a good meal and cold beer where I can sit at a bar alone.

Any gastro pubs type places on the Strip.

Thanks in advance.

Any Vegas locals here that are reputable posters can help me with a situation I am in please pm me:

My usual Vegas local, kingbbinLV, most likely will be out of town. If anyone here can buy 6 tickets via local price for Circus du Soleil section 202, for 8/12 7 pm show, and contact me beforehand (I will deposit in your bank account before you buy them obv).

Any compensation can be worked out. This is for a group of female coworkers who have a lot of clout at my lab where I work at, so this would go a long way in helping me in my career.

Todd English PUB.

There aren't any real gastropubs, the way there are all over the place these days. PUB's about as close as it gets.

Are the local discounts really that much better than what you can find online? When I bought Cirque tickets online I think they were 40% off, didn't have to be a local or anything. That's practically BOGO.

Has anyone spent Thanksgiving in Vegas? If so any ideas where would be good to go for food?

Hopefully someone can recommend me a decent place to eat on the strip on this date, guessing will need reservations too.

+1

Its located on Bermuda and Windmill I believe. Went there for the first time with Aaron and Chewy about 2 weeks ago and have been back twice since.

Imo:

Rogue Dead Guy Ale
double burger w/lettuce, tomato, onion, bacon, blue cheese crumbles
Sweet Potato Fries
Chocolate peanut butter milkshake

Probably around $25-30 for that meal which may be a tad bit much for "casual dining", but its well worth it imo.

also would def include (some already mentioned no doubt) Kaizen on paradise, Pho Kim Long, Jason's Deli, Firefly, Pink's Hotdogs, Yama Sushi (best all u can eat) Musashi (<$20 after midnight) and there's a mexican place on Desert Inn between Eastern and Pecos that has the best fresh-made Guac I've had in Las Vegas. And Cadillac Ranch in town Sq honestly sucks, and I would never eat a meal there, BUT they have the best cheese fries on earth. Get extra sides of ranch. Yardhouse and Tommy Bahama (fish tacos are bomb) also good spots in town Sq.

All that being said, I eat most of my meals at whole foods (Town Sq.) Go to the BBQ pit and see Rob and ask for a BBQ pulled pork or brisket sandwich. Ahhhhmazing.
