Might be a stupid question, but I hear people rave about Yardhouse all the time and wonder if I miss something. Do they have a special or secret menu for their LV location? I've been there and thought it was exactly the same as every other Yardhouse I've been to, including our local one. I think their food is pretty good, but so is the stuff at BWW or Chili's.

Texas y Brasil was an hour wait (after not picking up phone for reserv.).
In case you mean Texas de Brazil, that's a chain restaurant, too. So you could try it out in one of their other 50ish locations over the US or go to Fogo de Chao; Texas de Brazil basically just copied their concept. FWIW, I think Chama Gaucha is better than both of them, but they only have a very limited number of locations so far. Their founder was with Fogo de Chao before deciding to start his own Brazilian Steakhouse.

Yardhouse is above Chili's in every way/ Their craft beer system must've cost a fortune. I knew it's not a 1-off restaurant. Same for Texas de Brasil. f you need a 1-off steakhouse in LV try Hugo's Cellar in the Four Queens (classic LV). IMO we both enjoy unique dining places but casual dining doesn't have to be unique. I don't care for Dickey's BBQ for example but was invited by a friend and his wife because he prefers their Texas style. This friend has owned / managed joints in Buffalo. Toronto, LV, and other places. I like visiting TC's Rib Crib myslef on Durango when I visit...but to each their own. Cheers

Does anybody have any thoughts on Gilley's? My wife and I are thinking of a trip to Vegas this summer, and are considering staying at TI.

Not worth going out of your way for, but a perfectly acceptable meal.

yard house food is average at best imho. but it is a good place to go out with friends for casual dinner & drinks.

bahama breeze...now there's a name I haven't thought about in a long time. Haven't eaten there in 15+ years. the key lime pie is the one thing I remember from there so I guess it was decent.

Went to Hearthstone at Red Rock casino for first time today. Ordered the wings and half dozen oysters off their happy hour menu, as well as a lobster roll. Wings were tiny in size like they were shrunken to make up for the happy hour price, oysters were fine and nothing to rave about, but the lobster roll was pretty close to a disgrace. It was 26 bucks, about an inch of the roll on both sides were not sliced into in order to put less lobster in the actual roll, probably the smallest chunks of lobster that I have seen in a lobster roll, and they just did far too much to the seasoning that made the flavor really an odd combo. Food service at the bar was also about as slow as it gets.

I dont think Lobster Me or Cousins Lobster are fabulous by any means but they are a huge step up from that disaster. Willing to give the place another shot because I grind red rock poker a lot, but cant say I am all that hopeful despite an interesting menu.

Check out the Lobster Roll in the place right outside Fashion Show Mall, was small but phenomenal. Luke’s Lobster is the name of the spot.

agreed, lobster bisque was lousy, but think the lobster roll was quite good, big chunks of lobster with marginal seasoning. Best lobster rolls in maine are just are just massive chunks or lobster with a little pepper and lemon juice imo

Went to Flower Child for lunch. It was so good that I went back for dinner. Might have to go again tomorrow.

For lobster rolls I would recommend the Public House at Venetian. Slightly more expensive than Lobster Me but better and better beer options. Didn't TEP close?

I've been trying to process this sentence on my own, and I know that this is supposed to be a thread on eating out in Las Vegas, but after two weeks of mulling it over in a more and more frantic manner I'm stuck and need to seek feedback:

I am now completely paranoid that I've completely misunderstood what people mean when they say "pretty good." Like, if I overhear a woman saying to her friends that the reason she is with me is that I'm "pretty good in bed," I should be deeply offended and cry myself to sleep, right? I mean, I like feedback as much as the next guy, but that is just cruel.

Context is king. If she tells a friend you're "pretty good in bed" that's a positive. If you ask her how it is and she says "pretty good", keep your options open.

I think you have "tries" at the wrong part of that sentence. Las Vegas Casual Dining Thread

I think Chili's food is pretty good & BWW's food is pretty bad. Not sure what that says about anyone's sexual prowess.

What are some clutch breakfast spots nearish to PH. We do a guys trip and usually eat at Serendipity. Looking for something else since none of us are gay. Any good breaky joints worth checking out?

Bouchon would be #1 though more upscale and less rowdy (not stuffy though). If I were subbing for Serendipity I'd probably look at Hash house at the linq.

Not sure what the bit about being gay is though...so maybe I'm missing what you're looking for.
