Three very elite taco/burrito meats! This place sounds legit.
Lengua @ tacos el gordo are legit.

Three top casual places in my admittedly limited experience:

Tacos el Gordo
Taco y Taco
Fausto's (on Stephanie because its the location that Fausto hangs out in)

(Whatever you do, do not let Mason talk you into going to Viva Michouan.)

Not sure if its been mentioned but happy hour at the Grand Lux bar in the Venetian serves up very tasty double cheese sliders and tuna ceviche at very reasonable prices ($6.95?).

FWIW, my dinner at Lemongrass (Aria) was pretty bad - room temperature shrimp on brown rice. $36 wasted for far, far less than mediocre food.

I remember a prior post of yours when you said your wife was Mexican and made some great food, so I will definitely have to try this place on your recommendation..

Edit: Just checked Yelp and they are 4 1/2 stars.

Finally made it to sparrow and wolf.

Food was ok to very good, but service was excellent. Eg: we ordered 6 oysters 3-ways, they asked how we liked them, we told them we loved the first 2 but the last two weren't nice at all, so they brought out 2 comp ones of the first two.

The girl I was with thought her duck was super under done, it was almost totally red though not bloody, so I'm thinking it had been sous vide, but I didn't really disagree with her asking for a little more cook on it. They brought it back nicely done but didn't over do it which must be a little tempting in situations like that. No problem at all, then the manager offered us a couple of drinks on the house at the end. Not necessary at all but much appreciated.

All in all would go back.

GF took me to Arawan (next to Komol and in the same lot as Lotus of Siam - must be a Thai nexus there on Sahara) for my birthday last night. I liked it...Had the Spicy Green Beans with chicken, some ahi larb, and my GF had the tofu panang.

Yeah really like that place. Used to be a really great lunch special but now they are closed for lunch.

Smashed Pig confirmed excellent - wife and I had lunch after visiting the Mob Museum. We both had the house burger with fries - both were excellent, nice selection of craft beers. Worth a visit.

Should I tip based off the groupon coupon value or the "retail" price of the meal?

Tip based on what your bill would be before a discount is applied.

It depends. IF you are ok with your server wishing for your slow and painful death, you can tip on the groupon value.

At Howard Johnsons in the early 60s, my Dad once tipped a cute waitress .25 on a dime grapefruit. Apparently it worked, and that waitress was my Mom.
