That's when you should call Liberty Medical. They deliver right to your door with free shipping.

About to eat at chada street. Love the one on Jones. If this one is 85% of the original. It's all good. Went with the coconut soup.

Is picking up a taxi back to the strip at chada Thai relatively easy ? (uber not an option BTW)

What is the nut option for Rio/WSOP breaks?

Anyone around tonight and want to grab some quick food or play some 1/2?

I'm mid-strip and can go anywhere

Unless you have difficulty saying to the hostess, "can you call us a taxi," it is pretty easy.

A bagged lunch is the nuts. There will be lines.

All American Dave is probably closer to the nuts, but expensive.

What is the consensus best AYCE sushi option?

I don't know how close to consensus there is. My understanding (which could be wrong) is that most of the fish comes from the same vendor(s), and it's all priced within a couple dollars, so it's really all about how it's cut + variety (both of fish and of 'other') + ambience + consistency. So YMMV.

IME, you can't really go wrong with Goyemon, Sushi Mon, JJanga (caution: no liquor license, so no alcohol there), or Oyshi (I prefer the one at Rainbow and Robindale). Have had a good lunch at Yama Sushi as well, but preferred the vibe of the others.

There are others listed just upthread, but I think you'll get either ambivalence or a variety of responses.

Ok.
Thanks. I thought I had heard Goyemon but I made the terrible decision to look at yelp.

Thinking of heading over to Fish King Grill tomorrow for a bowl of crawfish chowder and either a po boy or one of the southern favorites - probably creole pasta alfredo. Anyone here checked it out yet? Looks like it's been open about two months now.

Also planning on doing an extended AYCE sushi run pretty soon. I figure every other day for about two weeks straight should cover most of the contenders. Current run list in no particular order looks like this:

oyshi
goyemon
sakana
jjanga
sushi mon
sushi kaya
yama sushi
umiya sushi
sushi way

and cap things off with a non-AYCE option, but the best of the best: kabuto

Might need to break that up and do a two week block going every other night, then another two week block later on for the next seven. Still need to add in 4 more to get to 14.
Trip Report?

+1 on all of the above.

If you haven't been to carlitos burritos in Henderson pls go and get your favorite kind of burrito and then smother it with Christmas salsas and add whatever toppings. Amazing

How are they going to call themselves a New Mexican place when they don't even serve flautas?

I ate at Jessie Rae's BBQ on Monday. Had the Jessie Mac - Big Mac style bun with brisket and pulled pork as the fillers - also some slaw and bbq potato chips spread on it. Some of the best brisket I have ever had. It is a little place at 5611 S Valley View - not too far from the Rio.

Also stopped twice at Bonito Michoacán (Decatur & Twain) - great food and service.

Gotta try their dry rub ribs next time, so good

Rollin Smoke burnt ends are the best thing in town. Wow. Think the pro move is to just get a pound of them for $20 and then a few sides

Rolling Smoke has been one of my regular stops for 4 or 5 years now - had the Biggin Dad's Favorite - sub bun with hot link down the center, chopped brisket on one side and pulled pork on the other side. A side of chipotle slaw and a lemonade - heaven.

Last year also tried out Rick's Rolling Smoke next door to the Pawn Shop. FWIW found the menu to be limited and thought it was overpriced.

Amusing how the character of this tread changes at WSOP time. Most of the year it seems to be all about sushi, Thai and falafels but for a month or so it is all about bbq.

This is the only reference I've found to M&M on 2p2. Heading to the SLVB location tonight to gorge on fried chicken.

Will provide a trip report. Happy to hear any recs for the sides if anyone has some.

I live a couple blocks from M&M on Charleston, and in 3 years we've never made it there. Hear really good things from friends in the neighborhood though.

Randal,

I went to a BBQ place this weekend and they were sold out of burnt ends. Dammit!

Sorry for those who already saw this trip report in the OOT LC thread, here it is again:

Chicken was fantastic.

Greens were excellent.

Mac & cheese was par.

Yams were way too sweet. Didn't finish them.

They were out of okra! Sad times

When she said they were out of okra I asked her to choose the third one for me, that's how I got yammed.

Mac & cheese was a mistake, I should have known better.

Would definitely go back.
