Wife and I like modern american. We've been big fans of Burger Bar, Serendipity3 and Stack. Coming in July. We're looking for stuff on and off strip like this -- not cheap, very unique. Thank you in advance.

New Table 10 chef is the last Delmonico chef. They moved him out of Delmonico and into Table 10 about 2 months ago iirc.

Jean-Georges Steakhouse also has a great bone marrow appetizer/side.

I guess "unique" isn't the word that comes to my mind when listing those three, can you add any more restaurants as examples?

Hi guys.

I'll be in Vegas for 2 weeks in June - first one on my own and second with my gf.

I'm looking for cheap eats for the first week and have been through this thread, but some recommendations give just names and no locations.

I'd be very grateful if anyone could offer details of their best cheap places (I have Ellis Island, Hash House at IP and PPP at Gold Coast so far).

Many thanks.

^ Noodle Asia (which I think is better than PPP & Noodles @ Bellagio) & Grand Lux Cafe both in the Venetian . Victorian room @ Bill's is quite decent too.

These have probably been mentioned before.

Headed out in June and have never tried either of those.

Thanks for any recommendations.
Cosmo buffet has bone marrow at one of the carving stations.

Best non-fancy restaurant for lunch driving from Dam back to strip? I was leaning towards the Yard House in Town Square just for the beer selection but reviews make it sound like their often out of a lot of beers.

+1 on the chicken and waffles at bouchon destroying any other kind of chicken offered in vegas. it is far and away the best cooked chicken I have ever had anywhere and value-wise its a total steal, especially for strip standards.

I like Monta a lot more but the two really aren't in any way comparable. #9 is a pretty typical Chinese place, albeit a very good one with high quality ingredients and high prices. Monta is a Japanese ramen place. They have 4 broths (pork, chicken/soy, pork/miso, pork/chicken/soy) to which they add noodles, sliced pork, and your choice of toppings like corn, green onion, seaweed, butter, extra pork. They also have a couple fried rice dishes but they really don't compare to the soups. The gyoza appetizer is the best gyoza I've ever had.

I mean they're good potstickers but nothing to write home about imo. The pork belly bowl however is scrumptious.

Viva Zapata in North Las Vegas is really good and I really like the Michoacan restaurants. I feel like there's a lot of haters in Vegas on the entire mexican restaurant scene in general, but I'm not one of them. It is a touch expensive though.

Went to Enoteca San Marco at Venetian last night. Fairly regular spot for us. If you like Mario Battali, but can't afford B&B or Carne Vino, then Enoteca is the spot for you. Great entree pastas at ~ $18 a piece.

(DOCG also has Enoteca in its official name, so I guess I need to stop calling this place Enoteca?).

+1

This is a standard spot for us for a casual lunch as well. It's great to graze on the antipasti & bread with a nice bottle of wine.

They changed the name from Enoteca San Marco to Otto last year. Same concept, same menu, only difference is the branding now matches their offering in NYC. San Marco was a "copy" of Otto from day one so its only logical that they change the name eventually. The NYC location is designed to look like an Italian train station stop, in Italy the stations have fantastic quick-bite food shops where you can often drink wine while standing up at tables, I was a regular because I lived just 4 blocks away.

I generally use Otto for either a casual lunch at the bar (not cheep, but it is the best polpette I ever had) or a cheep option for huge groups where we share the food.

BTW - Destyn, the GM of B&B, is moving back to Otto this month. She is a fantastic manager, thats great for Otto... she will bring the quality of B&B to the more approachable Italian "fast food" concept of Otto.

Ya, Otto (which I will probably insist on continuing to call "Enoteca" irl) is awesome. Don't overlook the verdure (cold vegetable appetizers). The Tuscan lentils might be my favorite dish there. The eggplant caponata, the broccoli, really everything under the heading verdure, is awesome.

They also have a sick wine-by-the-glass list, available in 2, 4, and 8 oz pours, with detailed and useful descriptions of each wine.

Does the Vegas location of Otto have olive oil gelato?

Doug Taylor the pastry chef brings out the olive oil gelato on occasion, but it is not regularly on the menu. Be sure to try anything he does that contains rubarb when its in season, that man is a magician with deserts.
Another cool idea, try the vanilla bean gelato with a spoon of Averna Amaro.. its not on the menu, but the regulars go crazy over it.

I think I'm gonna have to stop in there this week, I really miss the food!
