That might have been me. Everything we had was OK. Prices may have been a little high. I summed up my review with: "All in all a nice experience but nothing that makes me want to go back anytime soon."

old news but Earl of Sandwich is the best sandwich I've ever had...

tl;dr

a couple places from last week:

The hidden pizza place at Cosmo is Fantastic. $5 slices and $5 PBR's. It really is an excellent excellent slice too. Find the sushi restaurant and it's in the long hallway right next to it.

Firefly tapas restaurant/bar. Still my favorite restaurant in LV. Super cheap, lots of variety, and fun place. The weather is nice now so eating on their patio is gonna only make it better.

Also, at Firefly get the Artichoke Toasts. They're only $4.50 and are universally loved. They seem like an afterthought, but you could have them at every dinner for the rest of your life and would love them every time.

I'm coming down Apr 9-14. Staying 3 nights at Palms Place and 2 nights at the Hard Rock. My group has put me in charge of cuisine. I'm counting on you guys to blow these guys minds when I take them to a bunch of places you recommend.

As far as buffets I hear the Bellagio was the #1 spot but the new Caesar's place is amazing.

I gotta check out Gordon Ramsay's burger place as well as his pub.

Everything else I need help with. Anything close to where we are staying that is really good? I want to map out a nice itinerary.

Also In N Out is a must!!!

EDIT: we are all from Philly and NJ so we don't need any pizza or cheesesteak spots.

I'd rate the Cosmopolitan #1.

I didn't find bacchanal anything special. I think I preferred both bellagio and aria in years past over it.

Pizza at Cosmo (Is it really a secret???) really was great. I jkept finding my way back night after night

As for Earl of Sandwich...wtf. We have them all over the Florida turnpike at rest stops, and its always seemed like a gas station pre made deal. Is it relaly that good at PHo? Can anyone compare the quality to another chain sub shop? Firehouse maybe?

I think the obsession with Earl of Sandwich is that is reasonably priced, decent meal on the strip. That is pretty hard to come by.

I would choose Firehouse over EoS any day of the week.

My sub rankings would be:

1. Firehouse
2. Lenny's
3. EoS
4. Subway

It has been awhile since I ate at a Quizno's.

And I also think while Secret Pizzeria is a solid slice at a good price (for the strip), it is not really worth getting super exciting about. I still eat it every trip when I want something cheap and quick, but I couldn't see myself getting a whole pie from there.

Capriottis is better than Subway/Quizno's and imo better than EoS too. Haven't tried the other 2 so can't comment on those.

And for avoidance of doubt, that's purely on sub appeal, and not at all on price, walking distance, opening hours, drive thru, coupons or proximity of parking lot.

Capriotti's and Jersey Mike's both better than Earl of Sandwich. Earl is better than Subway and Quizno's. As mentioned above, its quality is overstated because a reasonably-priced, decent and quick lunch spot is like a unicorn on the strip.

I like Port of Subs' italian sandwich better than any of those mentioned so far....Capriotti's is pretty overrated, only good sandwich is the Capastrami. EoS is pretty good though.

The Bobbie is a pretty good no-nonsense cold sub. The best subs are on the hot-stuff menu tho, with a little effort to throw in extras according to taste. Italian sausage is a pretty boring sub, but throw in some marinara, hot peppers and mushrooms and now you have a sub worth a detour for.

I haven't been to Caesar's since they started offering the Bacchanal so I can't comment. The buffet they had before that was mediocre at best.

Bacchanal was a solid 7. It's definitely not worth the hour+ wait to be seated. Just pay the extra 10 or 15$ a person to bypass the line if you aren't of the right tier level. The crab at wicked spoon is a lot meatier and tastier IMO. I would probably go to cosmo, Wynn or bellagio buffet before bacchanal again.

You lost all credibility with subway on that list and Eos better then firehouse

Secret Pizza was descent for the price, especially considering the location. There was like two seats though in the whole joint.

Interesting. I can't imagine a buffet being better but I didn't have to wait and I'm not exactly a connoisseur. I will definitely check out the others you listed. Thanks. I also found the service to be pretty impressive for a buffet. Both at the table and the people making/serving the food.

get some napkins and take your slice to the lobby or the 3rd floor in the pool table area. usually open seats.

My signature secret pizza strategy is to walk around Blue Ribbon and down the hallway that leads to the convention rooms. There are dozens of nice chairs with little cocktail tables and nobody goes that way late in the evening/night.
