Well hopefully that will be one less druggie out free. I just don't see what's cool about doing illegal drugs. Hopefully, with maturity, your friend will lose his sense of entitlement and just follow the rules. It's really not that hard.

This is "100% WRONG..."

"....hotel and motel guests have an expectation of privacy in their rooms similar to that which they would enjoy in their home...."

US v.Young, No.07-10541(9th Cir.)(2009)

In Young, hotel security entered the room and found a gun and then called the cops. The 9th Circuit reversed the trial court based on the above holding.

You missed the point about eviction and being locked out. In this case, they Venetian merely has to say they evicted your friend (which they did) and they didn't lock you out.

As another poster mentioned, I'd expect that he's going to try to point the blame to the OP, saying he has no idea where all the drugs came from. That's what his lawyer is going to tell him to do.

My advice as a non-lawyer is to stop posting, especially in this thread for a couple of years.

You need to warn people about doing something illegal in a hotel room?

Uh, okay. Have at her...

You being a "non-lawyer" I would not expect you to be able to read and understand the Young case or the the 4th Amendment of The US Constitution, for that matter.

My advice to you is don't ever post your lay opinion or interpretation of a legal issue ever again, since it is clearly well beyond your grasp and will only serve to further confuse your fellow citizens.

Aside from dissing the bellhop, this also never would have happened if the guest was a rated player, or if the room occupants knew how to smoke without clouding out the room. If the Palazzo is going to subject its guests to petty pot busts, maybe their guests ought to use one-hitter pipes that don't allow smoke to escape the combustion chamber; and then blow the smoke from their lungs into the sofa or mattress so that only future guests will be able to smell it.

Fair enough Bobby, I'm not an expert in criminal law like you obviously are. Posting on a public forum about a felony case that you're involved in (he paid for the room) doesn't seem smart to me, but I'm an idiot so what do I know?

Yeah, and the 9th circuit is totally in the center with regard to 4th amendment issues.

i've smoked in every single hotel room i've stayed at in vegas.

i've also always tipped any hotel employee that ever did anything for me.

i've had maids neatly arrange my stash/para on the bed stand.

Wrote poorly, meant OP not you.

Obviously you got yourself worked up enough to PM me as well on the subject. This doesn't mean nearly as much to me as it does to you.

Peace.

Regardless , the incident the OP describes took place in Nevada, which happens to sit in the 9th Circuit.

Your right I got "worked up" to the point where I was LMAO at your posts and your PM and yes the Bill of Rights actually means something to me, whereas to you, its a bunch of words on a page you don't have the capacity to understand.

Yeah, why are you even posting? This thread clearly doesn't apply to you. There is one however about the christian roommates for the WSOP. Maybe you can use your sharp wit and intelligence there.

In my experience there are two kinds of potheads, those who are careful and somewhat discrete about it, and those who aren't. The latter type tend to end up going to jail. A lot.

It's all on my friend. I wasn't there and had nothing to do with it. My friend needed a place to stay, I got him a room, he did wrong and got busted for it.
