Michael's is the one south point restaurant I can actually name without cheating. I've heard good things but to say it's the best in the city is likely impossible. Like a lot of other fine dining restaurants, I've heard it went significantly downhill in the last 8 years since the fine dining boom busted and the cheap food started getting amazing.

Picasso will reign supreme for a while imo. Unless Momofuku is cheap.

In N Out is so good because of the speed and cost. The first one is negated in Vegas since the line is out the door pretty much always. As for the latter, you're in Vegas. **** it.

No chance of that.

Before you go to Michael's take a look at the menu and the prices. What you'll find are very pedestrian dishes and obscene prices (even for Vegas). Who the **** wants to pay $70 for a filet.

A last tribute to Kerry Simon, small, shareable plates. Menu divided into V, F and M for veg, fish and meats, as well as dessert- we had no room. Waitperson sugg'ed one from each, and we obliged.
Salt/pepper fries, shareable Caesar, Calamari, crispy oysters ( all to myself, yum), meatballs and chicken wings. Perfect....and we'll get all different things next time.

Is this the great, fine, big night out place that many people want to evolve in Henderson? IMO, no. Its just a great, small, neighborhood, friendly, tavern/restaurant place. Casual, vibrant, and pretty trendy. They call it, accurately, a gastro-lounge. Enjoyable, and worth the visit if in the area.
Thanks for the review, still looking for like you said the big night out place in henderson, but def will check this out. I am a big fan of Carson's Kitchen

I've been to more ayce sushi spots than I can count and still think Oyshi>>>>>>>>>>>everything else in town. I can get 10-20 different rolls and never have a single speck of fake crab mix or mayo in my roll. Not to mention they use normal amounts of rice on the rolls/nigiri and you also get apps and sizzling plates included.

The rainbow/robindale one? I live right by there. I'm not gonna do a review for all the AYCE places because they're all so similar but yes, I really like that place compared to the other ones.

Thanks buddy! I think 2 a week is sustainable for now. I may add another kind of content too though. Podcast or some interviews.

My problem with Oyshi is that like one out of every five times I go, the service is atrocious. Not "We're kinda busy so some things may be delayed" slow. I mean "**** whitey" slow. Which is a shame because my wife's old boss and Oyshi's owners are good friends, plus I live about four minutes from the Sahara location.

Yeah same thing happened to me last time I was there. Had to order unagi and ikura nigiri 3 times. Just never came. Then at the end when I am stuffed beyond belief, they all came out at once. Wtf? Had to really struggle to put them away.

Jimmy, while watching you carry seven racks out of the 40-80 tonight, I was wondering if you have ever considered writing a review of all of the restaurants that B comp dollars are good at? That would be a valuable post (and potentially quite funny).

lol

Not many on the list, I believe. Room service, noodles, Fix, Cafe Bellagio, and Snacks. I may do a joke review at some point where I review an absolutely terrible restaurant but prob not for a bit.

Giordano's review is up!

Yo Gobbo - just went to Shang Noodle House the other night. Definitely worth a look, if only to see them actually making the noodles in front of you.

I'm a huge fan of Khoury's at Fort Apache and Sahara. Lebanese. I also just went to Shawarma Vegas and really enjoyed it, though it was a bit expensive.

Wow at the severs never telling you that there was an indoor seating area upstairs when you were complaining on your first visit. I'm a big fan of Giordanos and Chicago style pizza in general so I'm stoked that there is one on the strip now.
