Give us a review of the Impossible Burger* if you get the chance. It just debuted in Vegas. Its not available in Dallas yet and I'm curious to see how it tastes.

Happy B-day as well

PS..are you still working with the EPT (or whatever its called now)?

Wings and Ribs there's not too many great options. Rollin Smoke beef ribs are supposedly elite but I've never had them there which is dumb of me. Wings there are no places that specialize in them locally so I can't say.

I need to update the Momofuku entry tbh. They apparently got a new executive chef and completely changed some of the menu including changing the chicken katsu which was the #1 seller and taking the brussels sprouts off the menu which is complete bull****. It's still fine but not nearly as elite as it was.

Still helping Stapes out with commentary but we do very few episodes a year right now so I haven't worked for them in months.

Rolling smoke at pawn plaza is borderline terrible. Can't speak to the other locations.

Lucille's at red rock does beef ribs, and they have actually been good to great on the maybe 5 times I've had them, but it's not anything like getting them in Texas. If it's just to fulfill a craving, it'll work.

Best BBQ in town to me is Pot Liquor at town square, but they don't do beef ribs. They do have burnt ends though, which is my favorite BBQ item.

Wings:

I only like baked, smoked, or dry rub type wings, and the best are the cajun baked at TapHouse on charleston, or the twice baked at draft house on rancho. TapHouse is worth a special trip, IMO.

I can't really help with traditional BW3 type wings.

That's too bad the Pokerstars episodes have been reduced, Imo, its the best televised poker out there currently

I may be out there in a few weeks to check out the Impossible Burger but if not, Imma gonna start hassling you to try it (I'll buy if the waiter will take my CC card over the phone)

Where do you do commentary?

I saw on Stapleton's twitter about the charity tournament. Dang, if I was in town it would be cool to play with Forrest Griffin.

I write the strategic analysis for the produced shows. I started with the Big Game way back when but recently just been doing EPT shows.

The burnt ends at Lucille's are surprisingly good....some of the best I've had. But you have to ask for them extra burnt otherwise they might give you the chunky non-burnt brisket pieces.

huh, I've had that exact problem at lucille's - never occurred to me to specify, I like it

My wife and I are BBQ nuts, and even traveled specifically for BBQ to asheville, memphis, dallas, KC, alabama, etc.
After getting burnt ends at kansas city joes I've been obsessed with them

And they aren't even the best in KC anymore. That distinction belongs to Q39 now.

I wanted to go to Pot Liquor in the past, but it looked kinda expensive for a BBQ joint to me. Is it worth it?

Well, I agree it is kinda pricy for BBQ.
I rarely eat BBQ in Vegas just because it's such a calorie bomb. As a result, I'm really picky when I do get it in Vegas.
My perfect BBQ platter would have dry rub memphis style pork ribs, texas style beef ribs, and burnt ends with no sweet sauce. I can get two out of the three at pot liquor, so to me it's well worth it at twice the price, since I maybe go there once every three months.
There's some new place called tennesseasonings, or some variation of that spelling, that I want to try - apparently served dry rub

Try John Mull's Meats for BBQ. Thank me later.

And thanks for the Lucille's burnt ends tip! Never thought to ask.

Was the Chada Street a misprint? I'd assume Chada Thai and Wine would be the play... OTOH, having a bunch of web TV watchers descend on your small favorite restaurant could be non-GTO.

BTW, Jimmy was nice enough to head over to Chada with me last week. If you think he's the nicest guy on the planet from reading stuff he writes, consider yourself correct.

Yelp searching for something near downtown, we found this crazy Rock'N'Noodles place in the art district. Neither set of Uber drivers had ever heard of the place. Not being the foodie that Jimmy is, don't take my food advice, but we had a good time and they had a fun menu.
