Introduction

There are many points in ones life where they could claim they are "growing up". The one I am about to go through I believe is the biggest one. Moving out. My parents gave me one year to stay at home after college to get things together and then move out. The time has now come! Today is my official move in date to my first apartment...BUT...two weeks ago I decided before I take the biggest step in my life, an interlude to Las Vegas was in order.


I plan on playing 1-3 NL/PLO to start. If and when profits are rolling in and the roll grows I will be moving up as the trip goes on. If I keep making money I will keep moving up limits. I also plan on playing the WPT500. If I somehow run well in it and make a 10k+ cash, I will be buying into the ME.

Day 0

After a nice 4 hour sleep I woke up this morning looking forward to an exciting but agonizing preparation day. Exciting because I would be going to get the keys to my first apartment. Agonizing because I would be packing and prepping for a trip which was going to feel like an endless amount of hours away.

First on the list was getting my keys. I feel very fortunate for what I was able to get for my first apartment. All newly renovated but small for a very good monthly. I took measurements so I could furnish the place the day I get back.







The rest of the day would be spent at the mall. I needed to top up my American cash and get some add ons for my phone for cross border use. Much to the surprise of my unpatriotic self everything was closed. Canada Day has shut down my prep plans. This leaves me for a busy day tomorrow before I head to the airport.

Last thing left was to pack my bags. That took all of 15 minutes. Great. I now had a whole day left with nothing to do but wait. The whole agonizing bit I alluded to in my first paragraph.



I have a vast collection of Converse shoes. A couple years back I decided to buy any colour I could find. I have decided to bring the classic red high tops and the lovely baby blue high tops.



Roll pic and backpack items. Roll is a little light due to Canada Day, will grab rest tomorrow.

Everything is ready to go. Not tired yet so all I can do is sit here and watch the Aria cash game on Twitch. Boo, not nearly as entertaining as actually being in Vegas and playing at Aria.

Mighty good of them to let you live there after college. Hope you are set up for success. GL in Vegas.

They are away on vacation currently as well haha. I havent moved in just yet. Will be doing that when I get back.

I am not quite as successful as I would like to be. Right after college I got contract work at one of Canada's top corporate law firms in their marketing dept. Was quite interesting having my first job for a major company. Was there when they worked on the Amaya/Stars deal! They had no plans on hiring my full time sadly and just kept extending my contract.

The move out on the horizion, I needed to find another job. So I am back at the job I did in College. Working at GM. The pay is better and there is no commute. In a way I am in a better situation for the now but not for the future.

Love the red high chucks, I had a pair not too long ago.

I have arrived. Got my luxurious room at Harrahs. I think its worse since the last time I stayed here. I coulda paid an extra 250 for Ballys but no thanks.

I am already crushing on the trip. Did not get longhauled so no issues with the cab. Got to checkin desk and was not charged resort fees! They only charged the 50 dollars incidentals.

Time to actually go play poker and see if I can make something out of it. Every trip I have taken to Vegas (5), I have lost on my first 3 days. Never been profitable. We will see what happens!

Full day report up tomorrow. I am off to the Venetian. Don't feel like going all the way over to PHo or Aria tonight.

Day 1

The flight just flew by for me, obviously pun intended. I took a carry on size luggage because paying for baggage is a beat and waiting for said luggage is a whole 'nother beat. The flight lands at 10:30pm so I want to get out of there ASAP

As lovely as Terminal 3 is, I got out of there as quick as possible. The heat feels so nice when I get outside. It's a cold summer in Canada only reaching 25 celsius most days.

The cab line is massive but moves quick. I get a really nice cabby. Didn't tunnel me and even was pointing out all the dick cabbies doing it to the poor clueless tourists.

Harrahs check-in line was huge and took around 30 minutes. I ask to be away from carnival court and I receive. The room is pretty budget. 2 queens instead of a king. I may go ask for a king room.



Right away I leave to head over to the Venetian. It is packed! I get the worst table of them all. I feel like I am at a quarry being surrounded by all these rocks. Chipping down 100 I move to a better table. I ended up being down 275 after 6 hours. It was now 6 am. Table was too good to leave. I had two hands that changed everything for me. A guy open shoved his last 100 and I was lucky enough to have KK and hold. This hand I am not sure how I played so let me know.

I raise UTG with AKo and get 4 callers. Pot 50ish.

Flop KJ9 I lead for 35 and get one caller.

Turn K I lead for 60 and get raised up to 140. If i call I will have 50 behind so I shove. Guy thinks for a bit and calls.

I tell him I have a K and ask if he has a straight. He says nothing.

River K BOOM

Guy throws up and claims he has the nut straight and mucks.

Ended up leaving the game profitable for +85. First time ever I have had a profitable first day in Vegas.

I assume I have to cab to get to an In and Out Burger? Located at harrahs.

I would walk but I'm used to the heat, you should probably wait til later around 8ish then you could stop by MGM on your way back check out their room and the madness that is Hakkasan on a Friday night.

Heat is fine for me. Is it on the mgm side or the tropicana side?

Thinking of dropping this, it is a lot of working considering what we LVLs are surrounded by lol it is tough to do one of these

Yeah it's on the same side of the street as MGM, go right on Tropicana and head west it's on the other side of the bridge/freeway.

Which flight of the wpt500 are you thinking? I'm probably in for the turbo flight because tournies feel like a waste of time.

Probably going to do the turbo too depending on how today goes. Up 300 so far if I get to 500 profit tonight I'll play lol I'm a nit
