1) I've read about awards programs and comps and stuff. How do those work pertaining to poker? What are the best rooms to get the best comps? And most importantly, i just read something about free parking comps. Any details on this stuff would be great.
When you move here, find the 2+2 map that shows which casinos are owned by which companies. Sign up for every rewards card in town. Even if they don't have a poker room or even if you think you'll never play there, get the card. You'll get mailers with coupons for food and free play. When you sit at the poker table, give the dealer your card. They'll swipe you in, and you start earning comps by the hour. The amount varies by room and by stakes. The usability also varies by property. Caesars, MGM, and Wynn all charge for parking. MGM will give you free parking if you hit a certain play level. Caesars is giving free parking to locals for at least the time being. Wynn is on record saying "Nobody likes being around poor people" so good luck getting anything comped there:

2) I'm looking for an apartment somewhat close to the strip. It does not have to be right near the strip, but i prefer something within 5 miles. I'm looking for something in the $700-$1000 range. Any info you might have about this would be great.
Are you bringing a car? Because apartments on the strip are super overpriced, loud, and annoying, and apartments in your range are ****ty and ghetto. Get a car, live away from the strip. I've been here 11 years and have lived in six different areas (seven if you include the place I'm moving to in the fall). There are really nice apartments in the southwest at Rainbow and Robindale or to the northwest in Centennial Hills.
3) Are drinks/beers free when you play in the poker room? I've always wondered this.
"Free", but tip the waitress a buck per drink.
4) Curiosity question here. What celebs live in Vegas?
Lots. Orel Herschiser and his wife play poker in a few different rooms around town.
5) Whats gas prices like?
I paid $2.54/gal for regular today.
6) What's the winter weather like? Is hoodies good enough or would i need a coat?
Layers. Hoodies are typically good enough especially if you're used to a real winter. You know how everyone says the summers aren't too bad because it's a dry heat? Well, it's also a dry cold in the winter. And those winds will bite right through you.
