No. And here's why you're wrong.
First, if it's shut down the only thing going up in it's place is a Cosmo-type of hotel; small, crowded and expensive, probably with no poker room. (space will be precious and poker rarely brings in much cash)
Second, if it does get shut down there's going to be at least a year or two of noisy construction creating dust everywhere.
Third, the strip needs a mix of all economic classes amongst the young.
- The 21-24 year old crowd that is just out of college but not yet employed need places to stay to the keep the strip alive
- Bottle service is already absurd, but imagine if *everyone* in line wanted to get bottle service? They would mark it up to infinity.
- What about the recently divorced? They are likely feeling the pinch of alimony and yet they need Vegas.
- Not everyone can afford Wynn / Bellagio hookers, sometimes you just need quantity over quality.
