At my fam's condo at the Signature on Thursday check-in, they gave us King size chocolate bars as they apologized for the inconvenience. I took a snickers and two kit kats.

Not many high rollers waiting in massive lines, VIP check in FTW!

If you're waiting in a 2-3 hour line you better demand they waive the resort fee.

MGM, if I remember correctly has other casinos in Macau, Detroit and the MGM Grand tower at Foxwoods although the Foxwoods MGM is just in name only, they dont take the MLife card there and could give two ****s if you have a Pearl card or a Noir card.

What's that, about six bucks worth of chocolate? That's certainly worth standing 3 hours in line for.

That's ridiculous, and it's literally one of the busiest times ever right now, from what I've heard.

And Vegas Vacation ftw.

Fortunately, I was a free rider on the choco train. Check in was normal for me as I had everything on my phone ready. Apparently, I missed the rush and the long lines. But your point is taken; it would have sucked, but a small gesture is better than none I suppose.

Re: If anyone's staying at an MGM property this weekend...

Just got an email about the problem they had this weekend. They are giving a 1 day comp night for the hassle. It only took me 5 minutes to check in on friday.

Dear KingBB,

I'm sorry. We may not have lived up to our usual level of service during your recent stay with us.

As is the case with many businesses today, we are reliant on computers to streamline many of the operations at our Las Vegas destination resorts. Like your computers, our systems require occasional maintenance and software upgrades. When these go as planned - completed quietly in the middle of the night - operations are often seamless. However, last week's scheduled computer update did not go as planned and it may have affected your stay with us.

This was a companywide MGM Resorts International system that failed, not a property program, and it interfered with hotel registration at each of our Las Vegas resorts.

First, I would like to extend my most sincere personal apologies and those of our Company. Whether you were a fight fan, a ticketholder for the Electric Daisy Carnival, a convention traveler trying to do business or simply taking a break in Las Vegas, our computer troubles took away part of your day.

Our job is to make your travel more enjoyable, not less. No excuses for technology. We fell down on the job.

I hope you will allow us a chance to redeem ourselves. We'd like to make it worth your while to stay with us on your next trip so we can show you we can do things right.

Please consider joining us for ONE COMPLIMENTARY NIGHT at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino or any of our other Las Vegas resorts, and experience the superior level of service that we pride ourselves on.

If you have any questions, or if you would like to redeem this offer, please don't hesitate to contact us. Call Mandalay Bay VIP Services at 877.632.7503 at your earliest convenience and mention offer code ZMRIF12 to redeem your complimentary one-night stay. We eagerly await the opportunity to provide the amazing getaway experience you deserve.

Again, please accept our apologies for any inconvenience we may have caused you and give us the opportunity to once again see us at our best.

Sincerely,

signature

If you got caught in one of these ridiculous lines CHECK YOUR EMAIL

....just got an offer for one free night due to this situation. Offer states it is for the property you were checking into on june 6-8; must be used before december 27 2012; subject to blackout dates and other restrictions.

best part is I got some run good and was able to check in via their vip line which was only 20 minutes long...ended up slipping the guy who was "guarding" the line a $20 even though he kept insisting he could not accept any money

whole thing happened because a planned system upgrade got FUBAR'd....im sure at least one person was fired over this

Edit: KingBB beat me to it with his (more detailed) post....only difference in the letter I received is that his offer allows him to pick any of the MGM properties to redeem free night. My offer can only be redeemed at place I stayed ( Aria...and im certainly not complaining)
