So my ph story. Honestly not overly interesting. So 2 weeks ago norcaljew, his chick, and I went to gallery at ph for some fun. Normal night out drinking, goofing off, dancing with the fattest chick there. You know the norm.
4am rolls around and we go to leave. Ncj and his chick hit the bathroom (nasty stuff entailed I'm sure) and while I'm waiting some dude comes up to me and we start shooting the **** and he says come with me I'll buy u a drink. I say sure (oops)
I don't remember much after that other getting kicked out of ph for cussing at random people playing poker ( I know how to make friends in the right places obv) other then that my minds blank. Nvj said when they got back from the bathroom I was gone. Next thing I know I wake up at 11am in a chair next to the bellagio cafe 1400$ lighter then when I started the night. Also pulled $400 from the atm. Had the most massive head ache of my life. Possible roofy possible drunk degan, who knows. I wasnt that drunk when we left gallery so Idk fml. Anyways, lesson learned won't happen again yadayadayada. Flame away

So my story. I've been playing poker for 8 years now, never really taking it seriously until a year ago. I mean I played online with a few hundred dollar deposits but the 2-3 times I got something going a pos friend of mine would hack my account and degan drain it. (I was young and stupid).

About a year ago I started propping at a small card room in sacramento (where I'm from) and had done pretty well there. I just could never get a br going because my wifes job sucked and I was paying all the bills (3k) a month expenses. in january my wife and I came out to vegas for vacation and the games were so good I ended up staying 14 days out so and decided then I was done propping the ****ty 1,2 100max buy in auto 5$ drop game in sacramento and was ready for vegas.

My wife applied for a job out here, got it along with a nice raise. ( went from 15k a year w/ cali taxes and ass rape medical to 33k salary with awesome hours and 2 raises in the first year.) We got a house to rent in sw vegas, loaded the trunk up and packed the 2 kids (1 and 3 year old girls ,keeps me grounded) and moved our butts here.

Expenses shouldn't be to bad for me I estimate 1000 to 1400 a month should be good to take care of everything and still save a little each month with the wife. The rest will go to br building. My goal is to be playing 5,10 + by the time I'm 29 ( 9/13). I know im already good enough to play it I've just never had the situation to be able to build a substantial br.

I have a little bit of collage and if everything is going good out here I plan on going back in a year after I establish residency.

My bankroll currently sucks and is at 3k. ill have about 6k-10k comming too me over the next couple weeks due to some stuff I have to sell so that will help. I also have been thinking of getting a part time job to help with everything (yea right). I plan on mainly playing 1,2 with random shots at 2,5 when the game and my br permit it. I also be playing random tourneys here and there also to help build. Wife and I also have another 3k in savings for back up funds.

Anymore questions feel free to shoot.

Good luck.

It def. helps that wife has steady income, makes the experience much less stressful.

Look forward to playing against you soon.

Cheers,

Re: I moved to vegas to play poker blah blah blah follow me thread

Just be careful playing with a 3k bankroll. Not sure if you realize this, but there is a huge difference in comfort level and what you can by in for when $3000 is all the money you have in the world compared to when, say, $6600 is all the money you have in the world. At least, that's what I hear! Just keep that in mind when you are playing. Good luck!

Re: I moved to vegas to play poker blah blah blah follow me thread

I lived in SW las vegas. Torrey pines and Trop. Its a nice area out there. Just far enough away from the strip to be a normal neighborhood like anywhere else.
The slot machines in the grocery store are a little different, especially when you see some women with a grocery cart full of groceries and playing slots while the ice cream melts. lol
