All I see in the OP is a man who has enough tickets for 4 solo Vegas trips.

Gogogogogogo.

I got married last year but as my wife works in a school we could not go on honeymoon after the wedding as it was term time.

I went to Vegas for a week on my own during the series two weeks after our wedding instead.

She still asks me how our honeymoon was!!!

Go, if your wife is saying go, then take her at her word and do it.

Hmmm..

I have been to Vegas 3 years in a row now. 2 previous years with groups of 6-8 guys, this year we were only 3.

I found it much better with a large group. The point is that when you are that many it is more or less accepted that not everyone want to do the same always and you can always break down into smaller groups, or even do some stuff on your own if you like because there are always enough people hanging together anyway

With the smaller group of 3 it felt like much more of an obligation to stay together, and I felt more constrained than in a large group so I absolutely prefer the former.

I have also been to Vegas only with my significant other..Not really recommended

^ bobjim looks you have a good system for large groups but a lot people seem to have experiences similar to what I described.

I too have a good group of 6-7 people who can do Vegas quite well together, but it is definitely specific to this group and we've had years of practice. Ordinarily, I would view a trip with that many people to be more headache than necessary.

I feel like the main benefit for people who are not having sex with each other to go to Vegas together is the ability to split room costs.

If you are bringing a significant other along, maybe a large group works better than just the two of you because you can send your SO off with other people while you play poker.

Having other people with you can be great if you they can go to the restaurant first and order for you and you show up just as the food does. Having other people with you can be great if you plan on doing some drinking, because who wants to get drunk alone?

You have all nearly talked me into going.

Spoiler:
By "nearly" I mean I'm going

So I don't really care about the room since it's just me. Don't want to stay in a dump, but don't need anything with amenities for the family either.

Want to be walking distance to as many poker rooms as possible that will have a decent number of tables going and is there a room with a good view of several tv's in case I bet on some baseball games?

Spoiler:
By "in case" I mean I'm gonna bet on as many games as I can

Thoughts?

If you are playing lower than 2/5NL, the rooms are pretty much fungible in terms of play. I assume this is the case, since you have started a thread about 1/3 live.

I would normally recommend something near the Flamingo Rd intersection, since you have the Bellagio, Bally's, Caesars Palace, and Flamingo right there. Bally's is normally seen as a place that is relatively cheap and dated, but reasonably clean for that area.

Good for your wife .... enjoy the trip.

(I do question NVG being anyone's choice for a moral compass.)

As for where to stay "within walking distance", be advised that the Venetian is nice, has a busy room, and is near other relatively busy rooms, like the Mirage or Encore.

Most rooms have several televisions, which they generally will tune to specific live games upon request.

As for "walking distance", there is a different upper limit during daytime hours, but uber can be your best friend 24/7 if you want to go beyond your personal limit.

The best advice you should remember however is "If you feel out of sorts, drink more water right away.' 95% chance that dehydration is the culprit.

1. Thanks you. Not that anyone should be interested in my nonsense, but I will likely put up a trip report as I go.

2. I'm hoping that isn't a problem for me as I'm used to drinking six 23oz bottles of water a day for health reasons.

If you check out some of the few trs i have posted on here, the best times I have had have been solo. Been drinkin, dont have the links handy but they are titled brocos kicked ass, hookers got harrassed, matt ryan mvp, and the most recent one was pretty fun, cant remember title. Solo you do what you want, noone to stop you (which can be a bad thing) eat, gamble, act a fool where you want. Never thought I would travel by myself til I did it once. Only bad thing is eating dinner and crap like that alone, but if you are halfway friendly and sociable, wont be a problem.

Bi-polar maybe, but that's the extent of it.

People drinking too much during the day is one of the reasons why clubs in Vegas empty at a time when clubs in other party cities start to get busy.

Lol wrong. In most cities clubs close at 2:30 while Vegas is still going strong after 3.

I said "party city". In Vegas, most clubs open at 10, are half empty at 3 and close at 4. In Berlin oder Ibiza, clubs don't open before midnight and headliner acts usually start to play their sets between 3 and 4.

Love Vegas, just seems weird going alone and not at least meeting up with some friends out there.

Judging by the replies it's just me that feels that way, which makes me feel like it isn't as big of a deal as I thought it was. Good.

Isn't this the way that kids in junior high and high school think? You're an adult now. You shouldn't be worried that someone from school might see you by yourself and think you're a loner and therefore not cool. You don't have to hang out with the cool kids every time you're outside of the house.

And people are often too worried about doing their own thing to care or notice what you're doing.

I do vegas solo literally all the time. Nothing creepy or weird especially since you most likely won't be trying to get laid since you're married

Main negative to going solo is not having someone stop you when you start drunk degenning your money away
How much of a loser does this make me? Quote

That's more than offset by going with a group that encourages your drunkenness and keeps egging you on, daring you to be more stupid, etc.
