Only because probability and distributions are part of poker, I'd like to mention that the original question was 'average' .. I seriously doubt the average woman in this profession in Vegas is making more than $100k per year.

Distribution is a different question and I do not doubt top earners at top of the line clubs earn what has been stated elsewhere in this thread.

Way back in 1980 when I was in the Navy in Hawaii, a friend dated a stripper from a club in Honolulu. She earned then about what a professional with a college degree would earn, which is about $100k in today's dollars.

Or 3 songs for $100...do the math. Work 4x-5x/week...x52. Honestly, the girl I'm bangin brings home no less than $1k/night and she works minimum 4 nights a week.

I'm no stripper expert, but I've been to a few places (for better or worse), and the Rhino doesn't fall under the category of average.

In fact, when I first moved out here in 2003 I got a job working the door at one of the low rent clubs. I worked there for a couple of weeks, and no one was making any money there except the cab drivers.

I think everyone is sort of ignoring the low-level clubs for the purpose of this thread, and is assuming that the girl in question can get some solid hours at Rhino/Sapphire/etc. and would be an average girl there. I guess that's not an "average" stripper in terms of the whole stripper population, but whatever.

Obviously someone working day shift at glitter gulch isn't making 100k.

Some of the replies in this thread are so tilting.

Those threads on Stripperweb are pretty accurate. It's a pretty ****ty time to be a dancer in Las Vegas, and it's even worse if she's new to the business. There is money here, but dancers have to be on top of their game because it's not 2007 anymore. There are more girls doing it than before and less money being spent by customers.

I see many girls travel out here and freak out with how competitive it is. Most girls don't have the sales ability or aggression to make it in Las Vegas. That is waaaaay more important than looks, because the prettiest girl in the room won't make anything if she isn't assertive. Also, if she's working at a good club, most of the girls are hot, so her looks aren't much of an advantage.

Then, once she meets a guy willing to spend, she has to know how to get him to keep spending. This is something learned over years so a newbie dancer isn't going to be having those big nights as often as an experienced one. Also, new girls aren't connected with managers and floor staff like the girls that have been there awhile. It's a concept called "social capital" and girls tip out big time to get it. And these girls that have looks, sales skills, social capital, etc are not the average stripper, so their income is not indicative of what some 22 year old from Boise would make, no matter how hot she is or how big of a fish she is at her home club.

Also, one thing that is unique to Las Vegas is that so many clubs are open 24 hours. A "shift" is arbitrary and can be 3 hours or 15 hours. I know some girls that work more hours in one shift than I do in three. So yeah, she better be making much more. And if she's making $1000+, that's not really that weird.
