Hotels to stay at in June 2012
Guys,
I have been to Vegas about 5 times and have stayed at Imperial, Luxor, Ballys but was thinking of splashing out and staying at Cosmo or maybe TI. Cosmo seems good value at 966 for 7 nights. Is this the place to stay in terms of location, room quality and buffets/ dining??? Btw I dont think its worth it to stay at Encore, Aria due to the price....

Re: Hotels to stay at in June 2012
I really liked everything about Cosmo. My room was great, and I enjoyed dining at Jaleo, China Poblano, Wicked Spoon, and the hidden pizza place. Great location in the middle of the strip. Only downside is no poker room, but PH, Bellagio, Aria, etc. are all really close.
If you do go Cosmo, it is definitely worth it to get upgraded to a fountain view room at check-in.

I don't get this. We don't go to vegas to stay inside of rooms so why pay big bucks? I'm not saying you should stay at the sundower either. But, there are plenty of hotels where you can stay next to free and observe the relevant views when you are outside of your room. It's not like some whore is really going to be impressed at what angles your room windows are facing. Save the money for more important things like gambling.

Its the same with everything in life. Nice car, nice restaurant, bottleservice etc. Taking the bus, eating at mcdonalds, and standing in line and at the bar all night long will also get the job done. Its a matter of preference and luxary and whats important to u. I think most people except for degens prefer to spend a little extra dollar to stay at a nicer place to enjoy there amneties like pool and such compared to gambool there dollars away. How can that be so hard to understand?

Another advanage of staying in a nice room is it leaves u the option of bringing back a nice girl to your room at the end of the night instead of the "whore" who doesnt care as u described.

I understand your point on choice, however, there's a flaw in your logic though. There are plenty of very nice casinos that are next to free right now..or are free. So, the incremental gain in value doesn't equal the amount of extra money you lay out for what you think is a nicer room. Plenty of nice pools everywhere in vegas, but that, too , I don't understand as there is a very nice ocean with beaches an hour flight away.

You think there are a bunch of "nice" girls you are gonna meet in vegas who'll then also go to your room with you within a couple hours of knowing you? And, you think these are "nice" girls?
So, what you are really saying is you'd rather pay a ton of money on a nice room, buying expensive bottle service to some girl and maybe an expensive dinner and a show in order to give yourself the illusion of using your suave "game" to pick her up and take her back to your room rather than saving $900 on a room, saving yourself the effort of finding a girl that'll like you enough to let you blow your money on her for a sexual encounter where you'll have to worry about satisfying her?
Let me cut to the chase guys. You won't find Mrs. Right at a club in Las Vegas. Don't waste your time, money, and effort on some broad who isn't what she pretends.

Re: Hotels to stay at in June 2012
Having stayed there only once, I would say if you can get 7 nights at Cosmo for 966 ... do it. The location is great, pool is great, rooms are great. No poker room, but you're very close to the Bellagio and Aria rooms. And I'm usually the one advocating staying at places like Ballys for the value.

Re: Hotels to stay at in June 2012
I personally like to stay where I will be playing the most poker. So that's V/Palazzo or Aria. Even during the WSOP as I don't play high enough to make playing at the RIO for cash important.
Both are nice hotels that I can appreciated, but more importantly when I'm playing cash games till 4AM that last thing I want to do is walk/cab back to my hotel. I just want to go upstairs and be done with it.

Maybe you don't spend a lot of time in your room. Maybe OP does. $100/night isn't exactly break the bank money and the level of comfort at Cosmo vs IP or whatever ****hole you stay at is certainly worth the difference. Also, the quality of people who inhabit the nicer hotels is exponentially better. Better restaurants, etc etc etc.
"important things like gambling" is the dumbest thing I've heard all month.

How about in June? What nice hotels are next to free? And he's going to Vegas, not California. And clearly he wants to go to a pool party not the beach. No one cares what YOUR preference is so stop acting like it's superior.

Your holier than thou attitude is really annoying. So what someone wants to spend their money to bang some girl? Nobody is looking for Mrs. Right, they're looking for Ms. Right Now. And Ms. Right Now might have a deal breaker caveat if you walk her into your crappy room at IP where you can hear everything from the next room and the traffic. She might drop her panties in a heartbeat when you walk her out to your balcony with a view of the Bellagio fountains. Ever had sex on a hotel balcony overlooking the Bellagio fountains? I'll tell you right now, it's worth the price of the room.
You know what's also worth the price of the room? Having a comfortable, quiet place to lay your head down for a few hours instead of some dirty dingy loud room surrounded by broke degenerates.
It's his money, let him spend it how he wants and STFU.

First of all i like spending a little extra money for a nice room and good service especially when i go on vacation because it makes my stay so much more enjoyable and helps me relax(nice bed good shower makes a big difference to me). I also enjoy paying a little extra for good food & wine, a nice atmosphere since i like the experience a whole a lot better then just grabbing a quick bite. But then again its all a matter of personal preference and if u do not enjoy these things it makes no sense spending a little extra money on it.
It also seems like you had some bad experience with the girls you met in vegas but maybe its just because your a not doing it right. Get a gf and some practice in and then u will not have to worry about if u can satisfy the girl or not and then u can enjoy sex as well.
