Looking for hotel for my last 7 days for the WSOP, gold coast seems good. Can anyone review their gym, really the only amenity thats important for me although a nice pool to relax at before the grind starts is a plus aswell.

Your in-room WiFi wasn't free, it's included in the resort fee (which it is anywhere).

The gym is small but not congested. Treadmills, ellipticals, stepper and minimal nautilus. It overlooks the pool which is also small but not congested.

A picture is better: http://www.goldcoastcasino.com/stay/fitness-center.

Likewise the pool : http://www.goldcoastcasino.com/stay/resort-pool

The building in the background of the pool is the fitness center. the pool is again not so congested.

Caveat, not congested when I was there , usually during the Wsop.

By the way I think the pool shot is from the gym, not to it.

if you're going for cheap, The Quad has great location and is the cheapest you'll get on the strip. Bally's, Flamingo, and Harrah's are a slight step up and will still likely be within your budget. All of them also have great locations.

Days Inn Las Vegas at Wild Wild West Gambling Hall is near the strip and it has the best price, Booking.com has 7.1 rating.
On the Strip Excalibur probably has the best price.

Quad vs Bally's? Price difference is ~$150 for a week in early June.

Any pro tips for Quad, e.g. room types or utility of $20 trick? (Yes I'm checking the $20 trick thread.)

Id pay the 150 and pick bally's.Ive stayed at both, and even though I barely stay in the room Id still play 150 chose ballys.

If you are going to stay at the quad, then you have chosen to stay at the cheapest
center strip location possible. Consequently you should just stay at the cheapest room
that the quad has to offer. These were the Capri rooms if they still have them.
I.e. don't do the $20 trick. If you are going to do that then stay at Bally's.

I have not checked for about a month or so, but I had been seeing Harrah's come in cheaper than Quad lately.

Tastes and desires vary, but I'll just pipe up again with my opinion that there is nothing wrong with the Quad's rooms if you're on a budget, and I'm someone who has stayed in and obviously enjoy higher quality rooms. My position is if you're going to go budget, go budget. In my opinion, there is very little difference in room quality between the Quad, Flamingo, Bally's, and Harrah's (I've stayed at Harrah's, Flamingo, and The Quad, but have seen two different Bally's rooms). Is there a difference? Yes? Is it so much of a difference that I'd spend more? Absolutely not.

In the current example, it depends on what you're doing but I would definitely not spend $150.00 more for Bally's. While you might think, "oh, it's only $150 for the entire week and Bally's is an upgrade," if you're playing cards at Venetian the Quad is MUCH more convenient.

Plus, the dealertainer pit at The Quad is the best late night, relatively low limit degen place in town.

Wasn't this thread a sticky? There seems to be a ton of individual hotel threads now that this has dropped off page 1.

Flamingo and Golden Nugget both did us right for the March trip with the wife. For the May solo grinder trip I locked down PH for Saturday-Sunday (awesome offer code made it cheaper than any other CET property) and Bally's for Monday-Wednesday. Anything I need to know about either place?

The only way this would work would be for the "Hotel Review Thread" to be a sticky containing exactly one post, which would contain links to individual review threads, one thread per hotel.

Hi there,

Are there any recent reviews for The Mirage? I've searched through the thread and there is only a small amount of feedback, which is quite mixed. It's in the lead for me atm since the location seems perfect.

How's the pool? Are the rooms nice?

Any help is appreciated. Cheers,

Mirage has a good pool but it is crowded with lots of chairs packed in. The rooms are fine, certainly not A level but basically a B+. Upgrading to a Tower Deluxe room gets you a bigger bathroom (which is otherwise their biggest weakness). The place is a step up from the middle class places (MGM, Bally's, Paris, PHo, etc.) and a step down from the A list. Maybe a step and a half.

eco is spot on, the resort tower rooms are well worth the slight price difference for the bathroom alone, look up some YouTube walk thru videos of each and you'll see the nice walk-in showers vs the gross tub + shower curtain ones.

I'm a pool guy. It is imperative that I spend 2-4 hours a day poolside. I used to stay at the Mirage all of the time (probably 15 visits) and the pool is why I stopped. It very big and very nice but it is also too small (relatively) for the amount of guests making it cramped and crowded and uncomfortable. Even showing up 15 minutes before open and standing in line doesn't guarantee a premium poolside spot. The pool is very poorly managed and the reason I will never stay there again. My LV vacations have improved significantly since I started going to the Venetian/Palazzo instead as the pool complex there is way more roomy and comfortable (with the best pool chairs in town!) and includes zero pool related stress.
