I've never been to Vegas before and have been browsing this thread. I'll be looking up some of the hotels talked about here like the Cosmopolitan and the Wynn but my initial thoughts were the New York New York, Mirage, Luxor. I'm open to information anyone has about what would be good during this specific time of the year.
Requirements
On the strip
We'd like to spend $1300 together on the room(s)
Gambling doesn't matter
Clubs do matter
No cabs, we want to walk
Location is more important than view
If by "$1300 together" you mean total for all six for all three nights, then your options are limited. It also depends on whether you are talking week nights or include a weekend.
From expedia.com:
April 23-26 (Tues, Wed, Thur nights--three rooms)
Cosmo $2681
Bellagio 2052 + $225 resort fees
Aria 1981 + $225
Vdara 1435 + 225
Mirage 1680 +225
NYNY 855 +225
Monte Carlo 824 + 225
Paris 1204
ph 1161
April 25-28 (Thur, Fri, Sat--three rooms)
Cosmo 3352
Bellagio 2728 + 225
Aria 2488 + 225
Vdara 1977 + 225
Mirage 2018 + 225
NYNY 1642 + 225
Monte Carlo 1458 + 225
Paris 1744
ph 1936
Luxor 1056 + 225
Ballys 1255
Ballys, ph and Paris are adding resort fees for rooms booked after Feb 28. Cosmopolitan is currently waiving the fees, but that will change soon.
If you're looking to be near the current epi-center of the strip (the Cosmo, with Bellagio and Aria nearby), then Planet Hollywood, Monte Carlo and Paris are the best bets in your price range on the week days. There is a bridge over the strip from PH to Cosmo and a tram from Monte Carlo to Aria and Bellagio (Cosmo is between them). NYNY is a hike, although you could walk to MC and tram it. Luxor is too far to walk, especially in heels. Paris is next to ph and Ballys is attached to Paris. But Ballys is a long walk to the strip if the movable sidewalk isn't working, and the South Tower elevators are in a desolate area with no guard checking room keys (not recommended for ladies).
On the weekends only Ballys and Luxor meet your budget. I recommend spending the extra money and stay at the Monte Carlo, especially if booking after Feb 28.
