Don't think I'd stay at the Flamingo right now...seems like it will be surrounded with construction (no big deal unless you want to sleep past 8am.)

Total Rewards giving me some pretty decent options, but of the Caesar's hotels I've only stayed at Harrah's. Last time (last week) stayed in a classic room with no view, which was fine and would do again at decent price. Also stayed in what I think was a Mardi Gras tower room with strip view and TV in the bathroom; not sure what the "name" of the room was. Anyway, would love some thoughts on the below deals and an idea on how to rank them. Hopefully answers will help others. Prices are for all three nights. Going with wife, but she has explicitly excluded higher end/higher priced places in order to focus on the gambling.

The Quad
Offering a Deluxe room for free. Also offering Deluxe King Suite for $260, but I can't possibly imagine upgrading at IP would be worth it.

Harrah's
- Classic for $44.80. Having just stayed in a classic, this wouldn't be horrible. Wouldn't mind an opinion on whether it is worth $44 over free room at Quad.
- Luxury Strip View for $130. Searching looks like Luxury Strip View is simply a "Classic" room with a strip view, and a ****ty one. Not sure if worth it.
- Petite Suite for $191.08.

Flamingo
- Fab Deluxe for $110.00
- GO Deluxe for $182.92.
From what I've read, GO Deluxe is far superior to Fab Deluxe.

Caesars
- Roman Tower Room for $300. From what I've read these are their low end rooms, so I'm pretty much counting this one out.

Bally's
- South Tower Classic for $55.
- North Tower Deluxe for $130.

Any comments on any of the above would be appreciated.
I would nix the Quad simply because I wouldn't want to stay in a casino that is doing massive construction. Plus it's not very good anyway. Caesars is obviously way too expensive.

For the 3 choices left I would probably choose Bally's deluxe for 130 since you know the room will be clean and fine and there shouldn't be any issues or obnoxious noise. It still keeps you relatively close to the Venetian and has a nice central location.

For #2 Choice: I've never stayed at Harrah's but would probably choose that over the Flamingo since it's only $45 and you won;t have to deal with any construction BS

Personally I would book the ballys south tower and simply ask nicely for north tower when you check in. Quad is nasty, harrahs is a possibility but I felt like it was kinda trashy, casino seems really cramped and smoky, my room was decent but the a/c would auto shut off when I was gone and I'd come back to 82 degrees at 5 am in august so that didn't help. I'll be there last week of march also and will be at ballys.

Yeah, I'm considering booking the cheap option at either Harrah's or Bally's and asking for an upgrade when I get there. Still not totally nixing The Quad. I like free, and a friend who just stayed there said that the construction wasn't an issue at all.

yea its vegas, you first gamble will be the $20 trick at ballys to get your south tower upgraded to north tower.... Id go that route.

Not necessarily true... All depends on 1) what room you're in while at the Quad, and 2) what's actually happening on the construction site.

If you get a room facing the construction, you will hear some noise.

Just ask for your free room to be on the north side of the hotel.

Go for it. If you go back a few days you will see my full review. I was there a few weeks ago in January. Very nice, great room, super clean, newly remodeled, comparable to any of the very nice hotel rooms I've stayed in. I also gave a review of the restaurants I think. If not, I will. I ate at three of them.

I just booked rooms there for 4 nights next month, taking my wife this time. I researched rooms, locations and prices for a week and it always came back to TI being the best bang for the buck and being in a good location.

I signed up for TI's "exclusive" email offers etc on their website and they sent me a link to an ad with a discount code that got the room rate down $10-$15/night cheaper than anywhere online for the same room. We ended up booking a Deluxe king room with a strip view for 4 nights for $350 including tax. Oh and they do charge a $25/night resort fee per night at checkin. It includes access to wifi in the rooms.

If you've got questions, let me know.

couple quick notes on TI

1- I was able to have the resort fee waived by only asking at checkin, no big deal
2- after reading the priceline thread over in the travel forum, I found out that the only 4 star hotel in the deisignated north strip according to priceline is TI. Knowing that, I was able to bid on the room and stay for 4 nights at $40 per.

On betterbidding they have Mirage as a 4 star in the North Strip zone also.

That shouldn't be a problem though since mirage is rarely ever won over Ti and it's better anyway so youd be pretty lucky to get that.

Agree, Mirage is better than TI in every respect I can think of.

Never been to the Wynn.

Saw an offer on expedia for a Deluxe King room w Panoramic view for 43$ more a night than a king room.

Is the extra money worth it? an extra 100 bucks will not make me lose any sleep, I don't mind paying but I don't like getting had either...How good is the view? Can I try to ask for a complimentary upgrade and slip a 20 to the clerk? Planning to go first weekend in April to lay down some sports bets and play poker. Going solo for a degen trip. I like having a view of the strip while I stay in LV. What is the view like in the regular King room versus panoramic?

Thanks, folks!

"Panoramic" Wynn rooms are on a corner of the building (the two rooms at the northwest end of the hallway). A "normal" (non-"Panoramic") room has one wall, the wall opposite the entry door, which is floor-to-ceiling glass with remotely controlled drapes. A "Panoramic" room has two such walls, the wall opposite the entry door, and also the wall to the left (or right). You might get a free upgrade to a "Panoramic" room by just smiling and asking nicely; agreeing up front to pay an extra $43/night will ensure that you get it. The odds that the "Panoramic" view, or the view from any room, will be that of the Strip are 50/50.

There may (or may not) also be "Panoramic" rooms at the southeast end of the building (in the pricier Tower Suites section of the hotel).

You won't be able to pull the so-called "$20 trick" at the Wynn.

Anyone opinions about Carriage Hotel near Planet Hollywood? Reviews on Trip Advisor are very good, location is great, prices very reasonable.

Two nights in vegas. Looking at getting the cheapest room with possible upgrade with $20 trick.

Flamingo $135
Harras. $125
Ballys. $120
Paris. $150
Caesars. $200

1. What is the best value with these prices?
2. What places will have the best chances with $20 trick?

(Yes I have read thread, basically learned ballys>flamingo>harras?)

You answered your question. And it looks like ballys is cheapest. 20$ will work at ballys and Caesars from my personal experiences.

Sup guys, cool thread.

I am coming down for ~10 days end of June for WSOP and VDS's. My options for hotels (based on location/price) are Flamingo, IP, Harrahs, Ballys, TI(maybe?). It will just be myself going down and I am not too picky about the room (as long as it's not a complete **** hole). Which hotel to you guys suggest is going to be the best bang for my buck during this time? Should I be staying further away from the Venetian/Rio to get a better deal? Thanks bros!

Id do probably do harrahs or ballys based on shuttles to RIO going to and from there. atleast i know they go to ballys, and pretty sure harrahs is the other one it goes to... that is exactly what I did last year for tail end of WSOP. split between harrahs and ballys.

Rio was clean, decent, has a really weird window from the shower to the rest of the room. I can see it's sexy if you are a couple with a room. Not so sexy when 3 dudes are chopping a room.

I'm planning my trip to the WSOP. I am looking for an affordable room that is still nice enough to stay for 14-17 nights. I'm gonna use it mostly for sleeping but still want it to be somewhat of a home base to relax at after a stressful day at the tables.

So far I have stayed at the Tuscany and the Orleans. I can recommend both. I liked the room at the Tuscany a lot more. But the Orleans has a nice shuttle to the Strip and a poker room, which comes in handy in case I just want to put in 1 or 2 hours and don't want to deal with a trip to the Strip.

What I need is the option to have a fridge in my room as I am vegan and need a place to store some soy milk for breakfast, some salad and some fake meat slices for sandwiches,...

I was at the Tuscany last year for the WSOP. Usually I would just go over to Bally's and take the shuttle from there. But at night I would usually take a cab as I had no patience to deal with the shuttle and the walk from Bally's. So this year I am thinking about some other options. Maybe some that have me cut some cab fare. I am wondering about the Gold Coast. It is right next to the Rio which is great but I am a little concerned that the room is not nice enough for that long a stay. Does anybody have some other budget friendly suggestions?

The Gold Coast room is like the Orleans room (same company). as you may know they both have sofas which add to the long term comfort. the walk to the Rio is easy and no need for cabs/shuttles between Rio/gold Coast.

The Gold Coast doesn't have a poker room. Orleans and Gold Coast both have refrigerators at an extra charge, but not exorbitant. The shuttle goes from Bill's to Gold Coast to Orleans. The Gold Coast is a good WSOP stay.

Mandalay Bay also has that awkward bathroom+window nonsense.
