Mandalay prices are < Excalibur. Is that still because of the shooting?

Are the poker floor people there still nazis?

staying at MB would be creepy. Can't imagine ever going there. Anyone stayed there since the shooting?

They keep emailing me promos with free food, so they are probably having a hard time.

Don't understand this feeling. The people who got shot were closer to Luxor anyway.

Seems like all MGM properties have stepped up their email promos compared to last year.

The In-N-Out Burger by Monte Carlo is off the strip a bit if you don't have a car. Better spot is the one up north between Linq & Flamingo on the side street towards High Roller that is within walking distance on the strip. It might be packed inside but they move fast.

Also the Tram on the left side of the map is free while the Monorail on the right side costs $5 a trip or more if you get all day/week passes etc. Have fun out there!

I remember seeing bus services on the strip. Anybody know if they are just for sight seeing or good for transportion too?

I know a table games supervisor there, and not only was business slow before that, he said it's gotten worse

It is, but honestly only slightly so I was going with the suite so I don't have to worry about wondering if we can get connected rooms.

In my head (for no other reason than it's the first number that came to my head) I was thinking midweek like I was looking at would be around $200/night, not close to $400.

Vegas hotel rates vary widely week to week depending on what is happening and how much demand there is in a certain week.

Exactly. compare a couple different weeks to see what the rate would be without a special event. Like if you checked the Wednesday of the second week in March it could be when March Madness gets rolling.

prices went up used to be 2 bucks all day on the double deuce. i use this to go downtown from midstrip, 30-45 minutes each way, not to bad stops are quick. i think its 6 bucks now. I only use the double deuce to go downtown and back, uber and cabs for anything closer.

what about the free shuttle from harrahs to rio does it still run?

shuttle from harrahs to rio is not offered anymore. there is one from gold coast to strip that also stops at the orleans.

Mandalay Bay room rates will vary greatly if there's a convention going, which is what it sounds like is happening. Compare the rates for your Wednesday vs any other random Wednesday.

Anyone stayed at the Golden Nugget? thinking of staying downtown it is so much cheaper. I can just uber to the strip.

I have stayed there a couple of times. Rooms are worn, but clean. I stopped staying there when they started charging the resort fee. I don't think the rooms are worth that much. It was very reasonable before that. I stayed in the cheapest rooms which are the older part of the hotel.
Now I find that Treasure Island is cheaper since I can stay there without the Resort Fee.

It’s one of the offer types.

If you do that’s, does that mean you don’t get internet, etc?

Just checked TI. It is double the cost of Golden Nugget. There is a 105 dollar Resort fee and a ****ing 14 dollar resort fee tax. Are you kidding me? a resort fee tax?

for 600 I could probably stay elsewhere on the strip. Maybe I am not seeing the resort fee free option though.

You're talking about 3 days ? The resort fee at most on the strip is $30-$45 /day which means that the TI is $35/day. Also no matter where, the tax is 13+ % whether resort fee or room. I know and we all know, LOL.

If you go to the special on their site, tv ad special and read the fine print it will allow you to waive the resort fee but of course no benefits, again lol.

The gym at TI is like lifting in one's cellar, dark and unrefreshing, and of course included in the resort fee.

I spend half my trip in the Rush Tower every summer, and love the place.

If you're looking to save money, I'd suggest stopping next door at the 4 Queens, where there are no resort fees, and you're still only a few minutes walk from Binions & GN.
