Day 5
Vegas is still winning for now
I open my some what foggy eyes my mouth feeling like its been force to drink lite beer, my stomach reminds me that it was not fed last night so at 6.30am I consider my options, the Arias buffet opens at 7am so it gives me the chance to try and OD on ham, 30 minutes latter I'm at the buffet and no queue first plate

Not sure about Chinese for breakfast but never mind
And then a little pudding
All said it was ok and for $20 odd not bad.
After that is back to my room to get plans in place for the tournament, shortish cad ride gets me to see the back the the Venetian before dropping me of at 11.55am get registered for the tournament and get lucky seat 7, nice lady on my right nice but chatty lady to my left and a very aggressive but good lady in seat 1 also at my table was this man
Now I wouldn't normally take a picture of a fellow poker player but felt he was asking for it, I almost laughed out loud when I first looked up but no one else seemed to think it strange
Good turn out for the tournament 171 runner, good structure, angry dealer and the same results I'm afraid, hit a set of kings on a king jack 8 two diamond board, reraise a young kid to see a queen on the turn, bet out again to see a 10 of diamonds on the river, kid now whats to bet out and I don't think I can call here, it could have been a bluff but a good bet on his part, get my chips up to
About starting stack and then don't see many hands and when I did put a bet in got out played, final hand for me was 6 4 of diamonds when I pushed on a raise from the most active player at the table to walk in to ace king on the big blind, king on the turn and thanks for playing good game bye.
Did get a couple of beers in
And an $8 ice cream
I consider the nugget but choose to give it a miss and stroll to Harrahs, after getting there i see a seat on the 3 card poker and decide to give it a spin, get my first beer in as I hit a straight alas thats the end of run good and I leave down $50 as they open a new table in the poker room.
The game is great, most are friendly with the exception of two friends who sit down put sunglasses on and don't say a word just look to peddle the nuts, I go up and down as more beer slips down then the following hand plays out,
Me jacks (yes you know where this is going
) v villain in the big blind, now I'm not being unkind but he was a little loose with his calling and betting range shall we say, anyway I raise to $15 on the button he calls flop comes over 2 10 king he bets out $30 now he tended to look to check raise with top pair so I take him for the 10, next card out another king making the 10 more likely? He bets out $45 I call last card out a king surely I can't be up against quads again? He goes all in for $70 I call and get shown king 3
After this i wank away $200 more playing like a (please add your own comments here) and then wander off in a drunken stagger to bed.
Before reaching bed i decide to eat, make it to
And order
Take it on a stroll back to my room and eat half and spread the other half about the room.
I fall asleep fully clothed on my bed.

Day 6
The punt strikes back?
Feeling a little hungover and waking up next to a half eaten fat burger, I have a vague recollection of giving money away while drinking as many beers as possible, I need a bottle of water but can't be bothered to move after 15 minutes of feeling this way I struggle out of my bed and grab some water and start my day.
I take a couple of minutes to checkout the Vdaras pool area, its nice but quite small and a few to many children for me.
It's then on to the
as I seem to remember that the buffet was nice, having had it this morning its was not, no ham and the eggs Benedict sucks big balls.
After typing up day 5's report its off to the poker room to find no game and one player on the list, I take a little stroll to the Luxor and find the same thing, take a couple a little look around before heading back to the Mandalay.
The game starts 4 handed and quickly fills up, the games is good a nice kid from Canada is taking a break from his mining job and is sitting to my left, he starts of hitting every thing, the table fills up when a new bloke sits to my right with a massive can of beer (tall boy?) and starts hitting everything me i smile and miss, sitting on $130 of a $300 buyin I start to feel a little hot so I have a little stroll and watch the end of the Man city game, coming back i get the mighty king 6 of clubs and call a $8 raise after most of the table does, flop is queen 7 10 all clubs, the raiser bets out $20 one caller so I call, next card is a blank both now check I bet $45 the raiser now min raises me and were heads up, i put in my remaining chip he snap call and say he has aces, to my delight they are both red.
At about 2pm the game changes from the tourist trade to a locals home game, cash out dead level, I make my leave and stroll to the Luxor.
On my way to the Luxor I get asked a question from a shop
And consider this deep question as I stroll.

short handed game i get king 10 of spades on the button, flop brings two spades all check, turn brings the third spade small blind bets i raise he jams i call, he turns over ace 6 spades

City centre i consider what to so now

And a couple of beers, thats about all for the day, I'm going to give the 1pm Aria tournament a spin today if I have no joy it will be a stroll along the strip and a couple of beers, have to be up early as I've a 6am flight to New York on Friday.

One of my favorite trip reports that I have read in a long time. I give you a lot of credit for continuing to write even when you were running bad. Thanks for keeping all of us entertained, and I hope the cards fall better for you the next time to venture to sin city.
