I thought there was no entrapment statute in Vegas. That's what makes the cop stings so effective.

It wasn't that long ago that just about any bellman had hooker connections too. Very possible everything ran through the concierge, but to get your request in motion, just ask any bellman that looks like he has a clue.

I think I have seen casino-ordered hookers show up. It was pretty funny, she came walking up to the main entrance to meet the guy, and it was about 9 in the morning, lol.

If a cop initiates contact and makes payment before the target has indicated knowledge of the subject matter at hand, it's clearly entrapment. Think about it. Someone hands you money and asks for information, it's too easy for someone to pretend false knowledge in order to keep the money. Whereas, if the money is just shown, the target now has to actively seek to make the transaction in order to get the money. That's a much harder defense in a court of law.

But in other states, the mere fact that the cop initiated contact is enough to be considered entrapment. So you may be right that Vegas is less restrictive in that regard.

I am not now, nor have ever been, a concierge, let alone a red pin concierge.

If you mean wife, gf, or mom, then of course you get charged. Plus you have some 'splainin to do.

If you mean cops, then they may confiscate all your money, as well as hers.

But practically speaking, a cop will either be the hooker or the john (most likely the john, as Vegas cops don't want to target tourists). They don't barge into hotel rooms on the chance there is illegal sex going on (how can they prove it). If you are in an illegal brothel, there's always a small chance of it getting raided. And if you are in a public place, well . . .

Hopefully you get discharged before you get charged.

You won't know if you're caught by a cop because out here when the cops bust someone they shoot them dead (even when innocent), so you'll be shot dead before you even know it.

Thanks for pointing out the red lapel thing, I wasn't aware that they still did that. I thought after the great hooker strike of '98 they had to discontinue the practice. I'm glad they brought it back, it really is a great program.

Great hooker strike? Call it that if you want to. I think it lasted all of three days, and in the middle of the week at that.

It wasn't even a strike, it was just a lot of pissed off hookers after Metro PD decided to round 'em all up for a couple days after the debacle at the Hard Rock.
