Best way to blow $2k is obviously on an obscenely awesome dinner at like Picasso or JR or whatever with world-class wine. Like it makes me ill to think of how dumb playing roulette is in comparison.

Yeah - imo key to a successful Vegas trip is to budget for things you know you'll enjoy: great meals / bottle service at clubs / strip clubs / shows / whatever. Also if they're planned events with a specific start time, it forces you off the tables.

SC - sorry to hear, if it's any comfort something like this happens to everyone at some point in Vegas.

ETA - Oh, I thought you were poster SomethingClever, one who wrote a book?

Ohh. I'm a day late and a dollar short on this advice. I wish i would have heeded this. There was another comment somewhere in the thread about letting someone else to hold on to my money. Or locking the safe and not giving me the combination. I will definitely be smarter on my next trip. Ohhh the anguish.
