In the era resort fees, paid parking, and for the love of god 6/5 blackjack, I wanted to discuss one that went our way!

Stayed at Harrah's last weekend (don't judge - it isn't so bad), and was given a $10 per night credit for skipping daily maid service (excluding the final night) - so $30 for a 4 night stay.

Does anyone know if other Caesars properties are doing this?

Harrah's Cherokee in NC gives you $20 in slot credit for every day you opt out of housekeeping.

Assuming you're not being sarcastic, that's a pretty loose definition of "one that went our way."

Damn. I skipped maid service for a 5 night stay at TI last year. Dunno what that says about me. But I wish I'd thought to ask if there were any perks for it. I'll have to ask at Linq this year.

true, but that's a significant potential for saving given Harrah's pricepoint.

Maybe a bit of sarcasm in there...

That said, on a week long stay $60 in food isn't worthless, and would be enough to sway me to Harrah's over Flamingo/Ballys/Linq/Rio when I'm slumming it. Hence the question if any other properties are doing it.

Offered at the diamond desk.

I was told by the desk you have to opt out for your entire stay, you can't have maid service every other day. That was at the beginning of the promotion and at Cherokee so may differ now. Signs are all over both NC casinos so not just a diamond offer.

Trooper opted out during his Cherokee stay and seemed to have to go to the front desk daily for the voucher based on the vlog.

Definitely NOT just a diamond offer in Vegas either. That's just where I checked in.

Their system is easy - charge it to your room and it comes off of your folio up to the amount of your credit (excludes tax). I didn't spend all of mine, so picked up a few packs of M&M's from the food court/cafeteria place on my way out the door.

iirc (and I was drunk a lot so unlikely), when I stayed at harrahs lv last year they had it posted on the "no maid service" door hang cards.

When I last stayed at Rio and left the DND tag up the whole time, after two nights they hung a tag that said they were coming in the next day no matter what. I guess to make sure I'm not cooking meth in the bathtub.

Bigger question is how closely housekeeping pays attention to the list...I've had other properties that did the 'make a green choice' sort of bonuses and the housekeeping staff STILL came into the room every day. Bonus plus clean room...works for me.

Soap and shampoo? There is usually more than enough in a room to get a person through the better part of a week. Extra towels...find the cleaning cart and just let them know you need a few extras (or just take them).

Of course, but what does management say about extra towels at midnight( or anytime) when you've been out during the day. I use a lot of towels and don't even mind bring my trash to the merest refuse opening.

Again, are extra daily towels part of the bargain or does one have to surreptitiously approach the maid's cart as they know you don't have your room cleaned, per agreement . yada, yada, yada

Tell me about my rights to a extra towel.

You use a towel once? I hang it up and let it dry. You must do a lot of towel laundry at home.

That's my thinking, too. Just because you are in a hotel doesn't mean you need 5 fresh towels every day.

During a long term stay at MGM Signature we were supposed to get housekeeping once a week. One time they didn't come and after complaining about it they credited us $50.

That's really not the point- can you get daily towels as per agreement ?

Obviously you can snag supplies off the maids cart, what I was wondering is as part of the deal could you call for more supplies.

When you see a cart passing you in the hallway, just ask for towels, toilet paper, or whatnot and the cleaning people will give it to you.

I've stayed at several hotels (not in Vegas) that do similar. One I stayed in gave you a $10 Starbucks giftcard for every day you didn't use housekeeping..

This ^^^

I've also had properties (not in LV) where I simply called the desk and came down to pick up an extra towel or two even while on a 'green choice' promo. Sometimes it was that I really did need an extra one and other times it was because there had only been two left in the room instead of the usual three or four.

And, my guess is that if you threw the maid an extra few bucks as you passed them in the hallway, they would STILL do the room daily.

lol @ this thread turning into the "how often do poker players shower and use soap thread".

Don't get me wrong, I am impressed at the concern for hygiene from what I've always thought of as one of the least hygienic groups of people on the planet. Maybe it's a tell? The players that aren't gross, like the ones eating pizza and sandwiches mere seconds after handling chips, are thoughtful players who study the game on 2+2!

As a few have mentioned, you can still request towels, linens, and other bathroom supplies - you're just not getting your bed made and room vacuumed daily.

What about Aria, Bellagio and Cosmo. Do they give credits.
I never use housekeeping while on 3-4 night stays

I think many poker players are in their room well into the afternoon (after late night sessions) and don't want to be awakened by the maid. I know i am. So a good deal for them.

I never had a problem getting supplies from the maid (towels, tp, tissues, soap, etc.), just give her a few bucks.
