Anyone with a Las Vegas driver's license going to be at Mirage tomorrow? Need 3 min help Anyone with a Las Vegas driver's license going to be at Mirage tomorrow? Need 3 min help

My buddy is looking to get Cirque du Soleil LOVE tickets at Mirage. There is a locals discount but you need a Las Vegas driver's license when purchasing the tickets. I told him I would get the tickets but I'm out of town this weekend.

Can anyone meet him at the Mirage box office or poker room, and buy the tickets with him on Saturday (Jan 19th)? He will be there, he'll go to the box office with you, and you just show your driver's license to show you are a local. He has money for tickets. No need to put the money for the tickets up. All you do is stand next to him for the 3 minutes it takes to buy the tickets.

I'll PM you his cell or you can PM me yours and he will call you to arrange a time.

Thanks in advance for anyone willing to help!

Tell him to get there early in the AM, LOVE sells out on most Saturday nights.

I'm pretty sure there is a decent discount when you show an MLife players card at the box office. Also, every ticket has a service charge of about 10% of the face value price, if your friend pays for the tickets with any amount of express comps they are supposed to waive the service charge. Even if you just use $1 worth of express comps they are supposed to waive it.

Tell him to see if he can find someone in the poker room to use their NV ID for him, if he offers $20 or so he should have a few of those $3/$6 dirtballs to choose from.

Buddy is looking for tickets for Sunday as that is the promo day for locals.

He just needs someone with a Las Vegas driver's license...anyone want to do a good deed that will cost you 5 minutes?

I just called the box office, the 2 for $100 is just on Sundays and based on availability.

They also have a 20% discount that is good for every show. The 20% off is good on ticket categories B,C, and D. Before the discount the tickets are $104, $130ish and $155. Just show your MLife players card at the ticket window and they will apply the discount. Doesn't matter what level card it is either.

Cali license still, otherwise I would do it.

Thanks for the info. My buddy is trying to get the 2 for $99 on Sunday. He's staying in the strip and can meet anyone at the box office or poker room at Mirage today, tonight, or tomorrow. Just PM me.

Thanks to another who can help.

Whats in it for the person that has a LV ID? Not trying to sound like a D*ck but maybe i read it wrong you want someone to go out of there way get ur friend some bs discount like 10 percent or something so your friend can save 10 dollars?? If thats the case i think its extreme ballsy of you and your friend just my .02

^^^^ Kinda has a point. I bet if your friend offered $20 for someones time he probably would have had a bunch of people ITT offering their help. 2 years ago a few Cirque shows were doing BOGO free for locals, I advertised on CL the different shows and the prices I charged (Blue man group and Phantom were also BOGO free) and then would meet the people at the box office and get them the tickets. I even got to blow through A LOT of my Express comps. I made over 10K in about 2-3 months before the MGM shut me down cause I was buying too many tickets.

What about twoplustwo being a community that helps one another though?

If you can't provide 3 min help for your fellow poker player in this wonderful community we call twoplustwo, then maybe you need to reassess what you're on this forum site for. How many times have you been helped by the members of this site? Isn't it your time to "give back"?

If I helped the OP's friend, all I'd expect in return would be a hearty handshake with a warm "Thank you".

I agree and have done the "use my NV ID to help other 2+2ers get tickets for no charge" but after getting no replies I bet if he offered a $20 or to buy someone a drink he would have found someone to do it.

For 20 dollars OP's friends will lose money as he will only be saving 10 dollars with local ID lol.... IMO i wouldn't ask a friend to do that i would man up and pay the 10 extra dollars... Now asking a complete stranger hmm...

Now I can see why he didn't offer 20 bucks!

We're not complete strangers. We're poker playing members of the best internet poker forum on the internet, twoplustwo. Many people get helped "for nothing in return" every single day here.

The cheapest tickets for LOVE are around $87 plus tax and service charges. He would have saved a lot more then $10 if he found someone to do the 2 for $99.

KingBB,

Seems like you gave great advice, for nothing in return.

I, as a member of twoplustwo,

sincerely thank you.

Looks pretty cheap imo to not offer someone a 20 for their time when they're going to save you $100 on something, especially in a city like Vegas where it takes an hour to do anything.

If you are a regular in this forum and I was able to help, I would. If you were a random, not likely.

Seems to me the op does not place much value on other peoples time.
Not necessarily saying that he had to offer a cash reward, although that certainly would be the easiest thing to do BUT

Its the way he says "oh its just three minutes of your time" like someone is already standing at the ticket line just waiting to buy tickets for out of towners. Im sure op is a nice guy but that attitude doesnt motivate others to want to help.
Come on man, have a little more respect for people than that.

They have to make their way to the line, communicate with someone who they dont even know, who by the way is not the op but one of his friends. Something always happens that adds to the time this takes, not to mention travel time back to where the helper came from.

So the reality is that this is most likely a 30 minute min task and perhaps an hour or more.
Personally I would just try and find some local in the poker room and just ask him to help me out and then give him AT LEAST $10 as a show of appreciation.

its not 3 minutes of your time you are giving back tho...first, as explained above its not an insta buy and you will likely do a little waiting...second and MOST importantly and what I feel is the reason OP got NO offers for help...how many 2+2ers grind at, or even play at mirage even semi regularly?...

imma go in on the under and set the line at 1...if this was at Bellagio, aria, venetian or MGM I am almost positive someone would jump in and offer help...just for example im sure MSChu would probably snap help if it was somewhere he frequents or was planning to be at(cuz hes a sweetheart obv)...but its at the mirage, and for no incentive NO ONE will deal with the hassle of traffic and parking to get someone 10-20 bucks off a ticket...im scum obv, but i prolly wouldnt even do it for a casual friend unless i was going or planning to drink at the same time with said friend!

It would be a nice gesture to offer someone something in return for their time and generosity. Instead of lie and say its going to be 3 minutes....
01-22-2013 , 12:34 AM
I didn't even take in to account the LOVE box office line. There is always a long line there! If you dont have a platinum or noir MLife card or are staying at the Mirage (you can use the VIP line that is always empty) you're waiting at least 30 mins until you get to the counter to buy the tickets.
01-22-2013 , 12:35 AM
I'm sure the friend would have shipped a $20 or so for the favor. Agree with McLovin, there are a disproportionate amount of interesting and good people in this forum which is why I invest some time keeping up with it.
