I agree with most of this, the CD guys are pretty bad, one time a crowd of them basically stole my bottle of water as they were trying to jam their crap CDs in my face. I don't mind the street performers but I hate the crowds that block most/all of the sidewalk while they watch. The drug dealers I've seen have not been annoying or pushy, I just ignore them or shake my head and have had no problems.

In general anyone on the strip that wants to talk to you or get your attention is 100% there to get your money or make money off you, so I find interactions with any of these people annoying, and my goal is to walk past them with as little effort or conversation as possible.

I've been reading this thread for almost two months, and there were many posts I wanted to reply to specifically. However, I didn't want to reply until I got current with the thread. I noticed that well over 50% of the posts (in a 5000 post thread) were bickering and/or berating Trooper about his lifestyle choices. OMG, there were times where I was screaming at my PC screen... Once I caught up, it came at a time that it seemed the trolls and anti-trolls were in open warfare about things completely unimportant nor germane to the topic or vids, or were negative. I probably could have been less douchey in my first post here. Apologies.

In my experience, a lot people online want to be "the expert", show others how smart they are, or just hear themselves talk. This thread is full of experts and talkers. I'm absolutely guilty of that at times. And at first, the advice and few suggestions were fine I think, but several thousands of posts later, and people were making the SAME suggestions and advice posts, and it was just repeating itself over and over... The noise was just getting louder and louder, and nobody seemed to be able to "convince" others they were correct.

Bringing this into RL, and I don't claim to be an expert on Trooper or a psychologist for that matter, but if I were Trooper and reading all this harsh criticism of my lifestyle choices and poker ability, it would affect my game. Maybe not profoundly (because Trooper has said he's above all that noise), but even if it puts the slightest subtle "pressure" or adds a distraction, I'd consider THAT a leak. The fact that Trooper has (in several instances) responded to the critics in the vlog would suggest it affects him in some manner.

It seems like Tim does this for the fans (it's what he's said over and over in the vids), so if he's receiving a lot of criticism/flak online, it's bound to have an impact. So to the nay-sayers and harsh critics, you're not only trying to derail this thread, but also Trooper's dream.

My mom always told me that if I didn't have anything nice to say...

ps. for some reason, I have found myself swearing more in RL these last two months (a lot more F bombs and S-words - sheesh, maybe this vlog is a life-leak for me, lol). Thanks for that Troop

When I am on the strip I almost always wear headphones when I am alone. This is a great buffer against cd guys etc. I simply shake my head or extend my hand giving the stop signal

If a guy is tap dancing on the guard rail of the Golden Gate Bridge should you suggest he reconsider his behavior.

I believe most are worried about the Troop.

Really entertaining went from last post backwards. Loved the skatboarding for chips. Lol at when troop got haircut. I couldn't really tell difference from the before and after trying to figure out if that was a troll. Had the same one hair sticking up.

I agree with this post, a lot. (even the parts critical to me)

#1- I know my first few posts came across douchey. I admitted here publically. I apologized. I just read 6 months of negative posts in a couple weeks time, and my first few posts spewed my frustration with the negativity.

#2- I don't suggest we fluff his vids or his lifestyle, but ya, if people wanna be a hyper-critic (and do it over and over again, saying the same thing), well... Whatever. IMHO, that's a bit douchey too. And offering friendly advice is one thing, but some of the posts were down-right mean spirited.

#3- To address the post that claims I am telling troop what to do. Troop nailed it when he said people here can sometimes have reading comprehension issues. I said "if I were Troop", as in, if I were in Troop's shoes, it would affect ME to repeatedly hear the negativity. The clip quoted was taken out of context. I did NOT say, "if I were Troop, I'd stop playing 1/2 or move out of his apartment, or stop drinking starbucks".

#4- My goal here is to follow troop's dream vicariously. Watch the vids, hear him post on them, Listen to constructive discussion about the vids, his life, etc... I'm NOT here to save him from himself or try to debate with others about lifestyle or poker strategies. If YOUR goals differ from mine, that's your choice, and I respect your right to have a differing view.

Since I can't (nor should I expect to) control what others want out of this thread, I'll simply ignore anyone who's posting negative crap (that you absolutely have a right to post).

To post here telling people to STFU was a mistake. My bad. ...I can just make people shut up my end by adding them to my ignore list. If you don't like my posts, feel free to do the same. Problem solved.
