Hello had a question about a good place to live in vegas that isnt super expensive but close to the strip. Looking to spend around 1k-$1300 for a 3 bedroom place that is dog friendly. Any help would be great. Gonna be moving there in May and want to look at a few places online. Thanks

In b 4 Desert Manor is suggested.

But a google search is your best bet for real crime data, home prices on zillow, and city data forums for in depth questions

There's no good area's close to the strip..You have to choose..Be right there close to the action or live somewhere decent but have to drive 18 to 24 minutes to get to the big rooms

Why three bedrooms, if you have a kids/wife this changes the dynamics a lot.

Anyhow, take a look at apartments on Decatur and Hacienda. You've got a straight shot into the strip via hacienda.

Vegas is hard to figure out without actually coming here and looking around which I suggest you do.

I'd focus on I215 west of the strip from Rainbow to Sahara.

Take a look at the Willows on Hacienda just west of Decatur it's close to the strip but 1/2 mile south of the beaten path.

Before I moved out here, the best advice that I received was try to get a place close to the 215 which circles the strip on all sides. The farther away you are from the highway, there is a good chance those are the places you don't want to be. I personally think the extra 10-15 minute drive from the strip is definitely worth it compared to the quality of living but thats me.

Being 20 mins away is no problem for us. Thanks!

My experience taught me that being close to the highway entrances is key. I used to be relatively close to I-15 but had to drive a bit on local roads to get onto it and now moved right next to an on ramp but further from the strip and I spend LESS time getting to the casinos.

Also, if there is traffic on I-15, use Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra as they are usually crowded and offer back entrances into the parking garages for some casinos.

Also, if you play non 9-5 hours and are not going with the typical commuter traffic (which has some odd hours itself in Vegas) you should be okay with traffic. Just remember that stuff around the strip gets congested closer to evening hours on Fri and Sat and doesn't let up till early AM. Start your sessions earlier and end them later on the bus days and save 15-20 minutes in traffic.

(Random tip: depending on what side of the strip you are coming from, it might make sense to park at a casino difference from the one you intend to play at to avoid crossing Las Vegas Blvd.)

I currently live in the district at Green Valley. Really enjoy the safety of the area, but in general things close a little early for me and bars/restaurants in this area are far from the best. The place I am primarily looking at now is in Rhodes Ranch. I am hoping this has the right combination of not being too far from the strip/good bars and restaurants/and is very safe.
