Agree with Sheik; craps can definitely be a cheap game, or at least a low variance game, even at $5 tables. If you don't get the urge to play odds and simply play pass line, you can play for hours.

I've spent more than enough time at both games and will state that Pai Gow has as high or higher female percentage than craps.

Re: Games good for losing $ slowly while I drink
Yeah, somehow OP has come to almost the exact 180 degree wrong answer to his original question. I love craps; it is fun and exciting, but it is NOT a way to bleed free drinks. Even straight pass/dont pass betting can decimate a bankroll within minutes on a cold streak. Learn craps because its awesome and social, but play pai gow if you're trying to maximize booze.

Re: Games good for losing $ slowly while I drink
what are some games where my friends and I can drink, have a good time, and not lose our $ too quickly?
and he is playing with his buds at one of those mechanical craps games with cheap bets on the pass line and I think they will have a blast.
I mean Pai Gow Poker is so boring when compared.
So go for it!

Most likely will play both.
3 days is a long time to just play craps!
I would still like a game where I can bet on sporting events involving 19 yr old girls in bikinis...
Cheers,

Yeah, fair enough. But strict passline-only betting, with no odds, no place bets, etc will also be pretty boring. Once he sees everyone spreading it around, he'll want in on the action... And that's when the money is gone before the waitress gets back with your first drink. But again, I love craps, and OP should give it another shot.

You hit on an excellent point. If he's cheaping it at a craps table with pass line only and the table gets hot, he'll be the moke that wins $30 when everyone else wins $500+. Does not sound fun.

actually the rio is probably the most liberal joint for sports books drinks in my experience. i made like 2 bets there once and the waitress would bring two drinks at a time. the place was damn near empty and my 3 friends and i were giving her a red bird each time she came by so she came by roughly 3 times an hour. we were blitzed. that was the last time i drank SOCO.

True that this sucks, and that it is a bit counterintuitive to expect yourself to be very self-disciplined while you are purposefully getting plastered. But he'll also be the moke who is breaking even on a seven/number/seven-out pattern for 90 minutes.
Also, while the strict gender breakdown between pai gow and craps may be closer to even, in terms of girls looking to party, esp. in the evening, it's no contest. Granted, half of them are working girls, but still ...
Sportsbook-wise, just grease the guy at the window for extra tickets. Ends up not being "free" exactly but pretty cheap ($5 toke = 4+ tickets if you bat your eyelashes).

WTF. NO.
Penny slots are like the most depressing place in a casino.

Play at the sports book. Put 5$ on a game and watch, that take up about 3 hours.
