Lol, nothing. No sarcasm there. Just genuinely wishing you the best of luck at that point, because that's when it all starts.

Re: Following my dream AGAIN! Moving to Vegas in July

TMack, you should wisely consider your bankroll strategy. Take a look at it comprehensively. It is flawed (and it is not even close).

Living for free definitively helps your cause, but even that is not enough.

At a bare minimum (and I mean bare) you need 40 BIs ($50). Luckily, there are games in Vegas that meet your requirement or very near your requirement such as Hooters ($50) and MGM ($60). And its not like you only start with 10bb-15bb, you still have enough to raise preflop and jam on the flop.

Your idea of buying in for $150 and then playing as deep as possible is utterly ridiculous (that's putting it mildly)

I'll offer you a great piece of advice: there is a great .50/$1 game in Laughlin (99 miles south of Vegas) at Golden Nugget with really good promotions. It plays like 1-2 but for half the cost. It is leaps and bounds better than Bills. Bills is probably the worst game in Vegas. (Pots are very small). If you get short enough, I'll consider bringing you down (I drive between the 2 cities much of the time)

gl, run good. I'll be following.

this is too funny, although not sure I buy into the playing as deep as possible deal

Re: Following my dream AGAIN! Moving to Vegas in July

SickCallMcGee, I will seriously consider playing smaller; 100$ or 60$ at MGM or Harrahs as you suggested.. I just have to think about it for a bit, I will let you know what i decide..

I do agree with you that my BR is not close to enough, but playing with 25-30 BBs isn't exactly my style.. even tho am primarily a tournament player so I know how to short stack.. Thanks for taking time to read my thread and give me the long very appreciated advice --- Thanks for the rides offer too, thats very kind.

>>> I love all of you guys who support me and are rooting for me.. Thanks for the amazing advices and goodluck wishes.. 2+2ers rock!!

Re: Following my dream AGAIN! Moving to Vegas in July

Guys, how much do you guys think i should buyin for with my current bankroll (i dont know how much i will get paid at work yet, I am getting my last paycheck after few days) but it will be around 2000$.. I used to buyin for the max (always), depending on the room, but either 200 or 300$ and ya i am comfortable playing a deep stack..

It was suggested few times in this thread that I buyin for 150, and some suggested 60$ (which is the minimum at some), or 100$.. so tell me what u guys think and why.. Thanks

Re: Following my dream AGAIN! Moving to Vegas in July

If your cash nut is 2,000 I would do the following: Set aside $500.00 as emergency money incase you need to book a flight or ride out of Vegas. Take your $1,500 and split it into 10 $150 buyins. This gives you a little cushion and you're not playing entirely short stacked every time you sit in a new game. As you win or lose your $1,500 adjust your buyin accordingly giving you 10 buyins until you have a nice stretch of wins. For example, if you win $500 and roll gets to 2k, buy in next time for 200, etc. Best of luck to you and stick to the 1/2 at MGM early as they have the best round the clock games and table selection at that level.

Never buy in for the minimum but with your BR not the maximum either. I guess the correct answer is whatever you are comfortable with. You want to get maximum value whenever you get a monster.
