The smart play is to work two jobs and build up a real bankroll for live poker (this is what I did after black Friday). Your life will suck ass for about 6-9 months but at the end when you have about 15k built up you will have a real shot at being able to make it.

That being said I doubt you will listen to me. So good luck, I hope you beat the odds!

best way is to grind on 1-2 and when you triple up.. I usually move to a decent 2-5 game... lots of reggs in venetian... @bellagio on a friday-sat weekend is always good... playing w tourists and club-peeps that are blowing off steam....

yeah this is not going to go well. hopefully this guy will be the rare crash and burn 'moving to vegas with no money' guy who actually posts after he goes totally broke. not counting on it.

i mean if you are an adult and you have less than 5k to your name you probably are not responsible, a good decision maker, or smart enough to survive in vegas on a short roll. like most of these OPs don't even end with running bad, they end with going to TAO for 1/2 the bankroll or hookers and blow or 'taking a shot' or whatever. degens gonna degen.

lol @ the first part, u really thing am making a thread after i went bust, thats odd :S..
I am not surprised you think i would just go to TAO and blow up what I called poker bankroll (which is not enough to even be called a BR) but you don't know me well enough and I doubt that you read my previous posts. But you are right, its very risky and maybe am not mature enough

I have several plans, and I planned this trip (vegas shot) very well.. I have several friends I can stay with. I have a very good relationship with almost everyone I know and thats why my friends offer help when I need it cuz I've always been there for my friends whenever I can

Anyways I got 2 backing deals, I already decided on details with one guy and I hope it goes well (and if it doesn't I know how what to do next)..

Re: Following my dream AGAIN! Moving to Vegas in July

I do believe in Positive thinking, I really BELIEVE that I will make it this time, I have this image in my mind thats so good and clear that I believe in.. I will do my best, play my best and do ALL i can to make this dream come true.. I will not give up regardless how many obstacles are facing me because everything is possible and my dream IS (not saying I have a great chance, but I have a chance and thats all I need)..

I have alot of advantages on a typical "young guy who wants to go to vegas and become pro".. I played for living for years, I made profits over the years and I am a winning player that had many leaks mostly regarding BRM, tilt and spending too much. I am more mature than last time I went to vegas, I worked and will keep working on my game, will keep learning and get better along the way..

I know that what goes around comes around, and I've always gave first priority to my close friends and I think this is the reason I was offered backing deal, and have few places I can stay at for free.. I hope I really make my dream come true and repay all my amazing friends who wana help me, also LOADS of thanks to all of you 2+2ers who help me with your amazing tips/advice and opinions in the thread and in the PMs even though I disagree with some opinions in this thread (usually the more realistic opinions), their advice is very well appreciated and am thankful you took some time and posted here ..

>> Been looking at some old pics from previous trips and this 1 cheered me up a lil

Re: Following my dream AGAIN! Moving to Vegas in July

Good luck OP. Interesting read, I hope you do well in Vegas and learn from your mistakes. It's very good that you are being honest with yourself about all of it.

People who can't admit their mistakes will never learn from them.

As far as your bankroll it is pretty slim and you do have a very high risk of ruin at the stakes you'll be playing. So my suggestion is this...

Play only at juicy tables at the times of day that are most profitable. Be constantly aware of the changing ratio of fish to good players and change tables/rooms accordingly. Be honest enough to admit when other players are too tough for your current bankroll. Pride will kill you.

If you do go broke, get a job. Don't go back home. Find a way to make it work no matter what. You're at a point in you're life where you need to prove to yourself and your family that you can live independently and make your own (good) decisions.

Many people your age have struck out on their own with far less money and skill than you have and have found a way to make it work. You don't have kids, mortgage or wife to worry about and hopefully you appreciate the freedom that affords you. It also means going broke really isn't as big of a deal as most people ITT make it out to be. It happens. The key is learning to get back on your feet again.

Best wishes, hope to read you're doing well.
