Be prepared for the temperature - even June can easily see temps well north of 100!

Yeah I'm expecting it to be at least mid-80's by 8:00am. At least it's not going to be as hot as Badwater Race in Death Valley which can get to like 115 degrees and is 135 miles.

Re: Flight of Fire Half Marathon June 9th
Well, if anyone else is planning to run the Flight of Fire 1/2 Marathon then playing the $1000 WSOP Event on June 9th, shoot me a PM.
I'd be happy to drive out to Red Rock together. I'll have a car and staying over at the Palms.
Run starts at 7:00am, I'll be leaving at 5:45am, expect to be clock at 2 hour 45 minute run, and be back at Palms by 11:00am.
Also, if anyone knows good trails for running near town, please let me know.
GL to all, but especially me, since I'll need it. LOL

Re: Flight of Fire Half Marathon June 9th
Hello DuckU.
I just got into Vegas yesterday (via Bangkok), was looking hoping to run the Flight of Fire half, but realized my drivers lic expires a few days before, and I won't be able to renew until I get back to my home state (I have been travelling in SE Asia for the past 5 months). I found your thread after googling the race, I would be happy to help pay for gas if you would not mind driving. I flew into Vegas because I wanted to check out the WSOP. I joined the forum today so that I could respond to your message, not sure how to contact you otherwise.
Thanks for considering!

Admittedly unrelated and not trying to troll, but am I the only one that objects to the term "half marathon?"
True, 13.1 is half of the distance, but if we agree than a marathon is really a test of will and mental toughness, as much as physical, then 13.1 is definitely not half... probably more like 22-24 miles is half, in terms of effort.
It's akin to cycling and century vs metric century.

I tried finding my 2+2 inbox but I can't find a link to it. I got your message, though, at my email address. I replied through that, so hope you receive it.

Leaving Palms at 5:45am will be back by 10:30am, plenty of time to play $1500 NLHE at Rio that afternoon.
