Hi,

It's my first time in Las Vegas this summer. Staying 18th June - 29th June.

Looking to play a lot of $1/$2 cash game.

Staying at the Aria, and it seems that, although maybe the best card room on the strip, these games aren't the best. Infested with European reg's / grinders.

So, few questions:

1) How bad are the games in Aria? Bad as in, reg heavy and tough.

2) Where is the best place to play cash? Bad and in, soft and not many regs.

Vegas 1-2 PLO is the nuts

Aria is a fine place to play, as is Bellagio and the Wynn. The 1/3 games are not tough at all. Reg or European infested doesn't mean tough.

I'd say Excalibur. Minimum buy-in is $60 though and stacks are often $100 or less there so it's not the most profitable 1-2 NL game in town. But if you don't care about making money it's a decent choice.

Aria 1-3 has regs but most of the players there aren't regulars in the room. And anyone that is "tough" is far more likely to play at least 2-5 NL in that room.

Flamingo, Harrahs, Mirage, Ballys. These are 1-2 games (not 1-3) and perhaps a little softer. Although you must realize that you are asking the 2+2 experts and, for them, all of the games are soft.

As was pointed out earlier: Regular doesn't necessarily equate to tough. However, they probably have at least identified some of their leaks.

You're really asking the wrong question. As mentioned above, there's no room that is consistently softer. For your first trip to LV to play poker, you want to play in a big room where you can see people you recognize play nearby. You're there for the experience. Otherwise playing 1/2 is like playing 1/2 all over the world.

My suggestion is to play at either the Aria, Bellagio or Wynn. They are the biggest rooms and the biggest games occur there. I also suggest running over to the RIO and watch some of the action during a non-NLHE event. You'll see some top players, often at the same table.

Download the WSOP schedule onto your phone.

Sniff around the Rio during non Holdem events, and high entry fee events, bask in the glow of the rich and famous. Grab some photos with the beautiful people.

Stick with the biggest and best rooms, plus the Rio.

This is no time for slumming.

You should also realize that the list for games at Aria, Bellagio, and other big rooms on the strip, will be very long for $1/$2-$3, and $2/$5; especially from later in the afternoon and on into the evening. Aria does not put in additional tables for the wsop, so they are very crowded and busy during this time. Bellagio puts in tables, even into the sports book area.

Good point Konoki. I think checking out the WSOP is worth it. I would add the Venetian to my list and perhaps the Mirage and the Orleans (off strip) as well.

For someone's first time in Vegas, I'm going off the board. My suggestion is to prepare yourself for the fact that you will play less poker than you thought you would. You've got a long trip so you have plenty of poker in front of you, but Vegas can be a blast as a tourist, whether solo or w friends.

Go to Fremont St Experience, book a helicopter tour, people watch at the WSOP, dress up and grab a drink or three at the Chandelier bar at the Cosmopolitan, read by the pool, see Absinthe and at least 2 Cirque shows (and pay for the best tickets you can afford), go to the gun range and fire off a few rounds from guns so big they'll leave a mark on your shoulder for a week.

Ofc lots of this stuff is expensive, but there really is somehing for everyone.

As for poker, just for kicks, play one day in downtown at some dump where the players haven't left their seats in 20 years.

And definitely talk to everyone. You never know what will come of it.
